You’re a peach DSP

I decided to use the You’re a peach DSP this week, but this time only use the patterns including Balmy Blue. Here is the post showing the fifth note card and also the box to contain them.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - You're a peach DSP - Best Year

The You’re a Peach DSP was cut in a 2 1/4 inch square and matted with a 2 3/8 inch square of Calypso Coral. The sentiment from Best Year was stamped in Calypso Coral also. If I’m going to stamp the sentiment directly on the card, I like to do that first, just in case, but use the matted DSP to help with positioning. The mat was popped up with dimensionals and a few Elegant Faceted gems were scattered around.

Finally, here is the box sized for the note cards, well actually for the note card envelopes.

First cut a piece of thick Whisper White card stock to 10 1/2 by 7 1/2 inches. Score the short side at 1 inch from each side. Score the long side at 1/2, 1 1/2, 5 1/2 and 6 1/2. If your trimmer only measures to 6, turn the card around and score at 4 inches. It will give the same result.

Remove the 1/2 inch and the 1 inch piece from the long side cutting on the score line. Repeat on the other side. Cut up the sides of the 1 inch square up to the score line, and remove a little triangle to make a tab. Burnish your score lines.

Cut your DSP. You’ll need two each of these: 5 1/4 by 3 3/4, 5 1/4 by 3/4 and   3 3/4 by 3/4 inches.

Now, add the DSP to the box starting at the end that doesn’t have the half inch flap. If your DSP has a right side up, put it upside down. Add the 3 3/4 by 3/4 on the panels next to it (also upside down) and the 5 1/4 by 3/4 next (whichever way you like since this is the bottom), followed by the next large panel right side up and finally the last skinny piece.

Make the box so that you understand how it works and then apply strong glue to the 2 tabs on the outside of the box. Working one side at a time, and making sure you’re lining things up right, press the tabs onto the inside of the box. Now you almost have a box (hopefully). Put more strong glue underneath the DSP covered panels and then wrap them around the box. If your top is too snug, shave a little off the edges. Decorate as you like; here I used the petal pink 5/8 inch organdy striped ribbon.

If all these instructions seem like greek to you, I’ll be showing all of the note cards plus the box later on at my live at 11am EDT. I will then upload it to YouTube if you’re not on Facebook.
