I really like the colours chosen for this week’s challenge by the Pals Paper Arts but I’m surprised that I ended up with a Christmas card – it wasn’t my intent but the card evolved in its own direction as often seems to happen.
Here’s the banner that was the inspiration
I started by cutting out the trees in Always Artichoke using the Sleigh Ride Edgelits. I originally planned use the silent night from the Jingle all the Way set – the curve fits perfectly with the curve cut by the framelits. But then there was just too much bare expanse of sahara sand. I couldn’t see making any stars with the available colour choices so turned to the Wonderland stamp set. I stamped both sentiments in blackberry bliss – and amazed myself by remembering to do this before I popped up the always artichoke piece. I even cut little pieces of dimensionals to put behind the trees. I then mounted this on a blackberry bliss card base. It’s an ultra clean card and I’m really happy with it.
See you tomorrow,
Liz
Liz, this is CAS perfection! Very pretty and soothing… perfect for the sentiments and die cut. Thanks for including the PPA in your stamping fun this week!
Thank you Katy – I loved the colour selection. I realise that I’ve been stuck in a rut regarding the neutrals so it was good to be pushed to use sahara sand.
Woot-woot! Way to go for playing this week and YOU ROCKED IT….I hate to admit, I have yet to play with this stamp set and framelits….but thanks for “pushing me” – Super job!
Thanks Susan. I love these framelits, they are so much fun to play with, you’ll love them. I look forward to seeing what you do with them, on your blog.
I love this darling CAS card. Such a peaceful scene. Thank you for play at the PPA with us this week.
Thanks Lynn – I’m pretty sure that many of my Christmas cards are going to feature these framelits!
