I know that Rebecca has received her card so I can post it on my blog now. As with yesterday’s card, it’s more water colouring but only for the background this time.
I used my aqua painter and the soft sky ink pad to add a wash of colour to the water colour paper, getting fainter as I went down the paper. After it dried, I used lost lagoon to stamp the image from the Endless Birthday Wishes set – holding it down firmly since the water colour paper is rather bumpy and thus is harder to stamp on. I mounted the water colour paper onto a skinny mat of lost lagoon with sticky strip.
The sentiment is also from Endless Birthday Wishes and to get the placement right I stuck down the image first onto a card base of soft sky. Just be careful not to use a block that’s too large and covers the glued on image – it will mess up your sentiment stamping. Yes. I’ve done that! I used lost lagoon again for the stamping.
The envelope is lined with the soft sky backgrounds DSP – I’ve seen the new colour collections replacing these and I really like them. I’ll actually be able to use both sides of the paper instead of only using two of the four patterns as I’ve always done with the backgrounds DSP. And I can order the new DSP on Tuesday!
I can aver, with full authority, that this card is even more lovely in person! Absolute perfection down to the last little bit, and the color is scrumptious, too! Thank you, thank you, thank you for the beautiful card, Liz!
