Daffodil Daydream

The product of the week is the Daffodil Daydream bundle (157795). At $54.75 it reaches the threshold to claim a free Sale-a-bration item. I recommend you select the Daffodil Afternoon DSP which coordinates with the bundle. Today I’m just using the Daffodil Dies.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - My Elegant Cards - Daffodil Daydream bundle - Daffodil Dies - Sweet Ice Cream

I started by die cutting 5 daffodil trumpets out of white card stock. This was made easier by there being 2 identical dies in the Daffodil Dies set.

Next I cut off the rounded bottom off each trumpet to make them into cup cakes. Polished Pink, Fresh Freesia and Pale Papaya Stampin’ Write markers were used to create the frosting. Wink of Stella was applied to give the frosting shine and then lines were added onto the cupcake liners.

I wanted a big Happy Birthday greeting and found what I was looking for in the Sweet Ice Cream set. This was stamped onto a white layer in Polished Pink and mounted onto a same coloured card base.  I added dimensionals to the back of the cupcakes and arranged them on the card.

Finally I added some of the 2021-2023 in color jewels as sprinkles on top of the cupcakes.

The current Sale-a-bration is running now and ends on 28th February. Since the available selection can get a little sparse towards the end of the time period, early ordering is recommended.

I made this card plus 2 others at my Live this morning. Catch the replay or find it on YouTube.

Forever Greenery DSP

This week I’m focusing a little differently – the designer series paper from the annual catalog will be retiring at the beginning of May. We need to use it before we get distracted by the new papers. And you know that we’ll get distracted. So I thought I’d grab some of my Forever Greenery DSP and spend the rest of this week showing some simple layouts to use some of it up.

This one is a 3 3/4 by 5 inch piece of the Forever Greenery DSP matted in Pretty Peacock cut an 1/8 inch larger and then layered onto a Whisper White card base. Then a sentiment also stamped in Pretty Peacock and cut out using the Stitched Rectangles dies. The sentiment is from Sweet Ice Cream.

You could go even simpler and leave off the mat but I prefer the extra layer. If you do that, cut the DSP to 5 1/4 by 4. You can get 6 cards like this out of one 12 by 12 sheet of paper which makes 96 out of the full DSP pack!

Boho Indigo Product Medley

This week as you know by now, I’m showcasing the Boho Indigo Product Medley (153132) and since there is SO much to showcase I’m blogging 2 cards every day this week. At $70 you may feel it’s expensive, but I’ve barely scraped the surface! You really do get a huge amount of product – and the refill is almost $10 off in the sale.

The first card’s vase was stamped in Mossy Meadow and cut out with the dies in the Medley. My Mossy Meadow ink pad was misbehaving and needing to be reinked every time I used it, so on the advice of a fellow stamper, I squirted the pad with alcohol. It worked much better and produced some interesting effects. I also used it to stamp the bush. The Very Vanilla layer was first matted in Mossy Meadow and then on a piece of the dry embossed Very Vanilla from the Medley. This was then put onto a Mossy Meadow card base and the sentiment was die cut with the Stitched So Sweetly dies and popped up with dimensionals. Finally I added a few of the smaller flower embellishments.

The second card used a piece of the gorgeous DSP which was matted with Night of Navy and placed on a Very Vanilla card base after adding a Misty Moonlight ribbon. I wanted a larger sentiment so used the Thank You from the Sweet Ice Cream set. It was stamped in Misty Moonlight and die cut using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies.

Come back tomorrow for some more samples…

Bouquet of Hope

This week I’m making alternative cards using the Paper Pumpkin kit, Bouquet of Hope. If you subscribe under me, I’ll send you the tutorial to teach you how to make these.

This is also a simple card. Here, the main stamp of the Bouquet of Hope set was stamped around two edges of the Pretty Peacock card base in versamark. After sprinkling with silver embossing powder it was heated until it was shiny and glossy. It’s such a satisfying thing to watch happen.

The sentiment comes from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set and was embossed on a Pretty Peacock scrap. After being cut up with the Stitched Rectangle Dies, it was popped up with dimensionals.

I’ll be making this card at my free card class later on today at 11am which will then be uploaded to YouTube.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Bouquet of Hope - February 2021 Paper Pumpkin alternatives - Sweet Ice Cream

This is a simple – and somewhat obvious – alternative. The main stamp in the set was used on a Purple Posy card base and then watercolor pencils were used to add color to the bouquet. Afterward, wink of Stella was added to blend the colors a little and, of course, to add sparkle.

The sentiment comes from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set

I’ll be making this card at my free card class on Sunday at 11am which then gets uploaded to YouTube.
