Moroccan Designer Series Paper

I wanted to showcase the stitched shapes framelits dies again and decided to add the Moroccan Designer Series Paper to the card.

I started by stamping the image from the Endless Birthday Wishes stamp set in versamark and then bringing it to life with the silver embossing powder and the heat gun. I used the largest but one oval stitched framelit and that created my focal point. I cut a piece of the Moroccan Designer Series Paper to add more emerald envy. I used the same colour for the sentiment also from Endless Birthday Wishes. I put this all together on a piece of whisper white and then onto an emerald envy card base. Easy but very effective.

Lovely As A Tree

This cards a bit of an experiment – I was, of course, still playing with my Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies last night when I wondered whether I could have something poking out of the stitched shape. I decided on the elegant tree from Lovely As A Tree for my experiment.

I first stamped it on the very vanilla layer and then again on a scrap which I cropped with the largest of the square Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies. Then I carefully lined up the image and glued the die cut layer on the top of the tree stamped on the card layer. Only then did I stamp my greeting – happily flawlessly, but that was definitely taking a risk! I then put the layer onto a cherry cobbler card base to match the greeting. I am really glad that these dies came in time for me to take them to the 3 day crop that I’m going to tomorrow – look for lots more samples showing them next week.

Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies

When I got home last night, my latest order had been delivered from Stampin’ Up! And this one contained the brand new Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies released early on November 1st. Stitching has been a trend for a while and I was thrilled that these have been released because whilst I’m not about to start actually stitching on a card, I do love the look of the stitches.

Also in my order was the Fancy Frost Specialty DSP which was brought to my attention by my adopted upline, Eimear. Actually Eimear is my sister Caro’s upline but that UK based team has kindly let me be part of their fun and are encouraging me to go to the Live Onstage event in Europe with them next April. You can’t split up sisters now can you?! And yes, I double dip – I’m going away this weekend to MY upline’s cropping event, one that my sister has gone to as well. The stamping community is very friendly. Anyway, back to the card…

I very lightly sponged the fancy frost specialty DSP in always artichoke using a sponge and glued that to an always artichoke card base. I stamped one of my favourite trees from Totally Trees onto whisper white and cut it out with my brand new Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies and created an always artichoke mat using the layering ovals. The merry comes from the Christmas Greetings thinlits and it’s been cut out in cajun craze. To tie it all together, I used an enamel shape in the same colour. Since I was going to have the sentiment overlapping the image, I glued everything down flat. I look forward to playing some more with the stitched dies tonight.
