I’ve been playing some more with the See a Silhouette DSP – it makes gorgeous cards.
This piece of DSP is slightly larger than the previous one and I again matted it with mossy meadow. It looked good on a horizontal card due to the larger size. I stamped another of the sentiments from the Silhouette Scenes stamp set in poppy parade and then cut it out with the stitched shapes framelits dies. A little bow in the poppy parade ribbon and it was done.

One of the gorgeous designer series paper packs is the Happiness Blooms ($11 for 12 double sided sheets, 148795). Here I decided to make a masculine birthday card – I work in IT and the proportion of men to women is very high.
I’ve taken a 2 inch piece of the DSP and adhered it to a night of navy card base. I kept with the circles and used the stitched shapes framelits dies to cut out the fun sentiment from the Sale-a-bration set Hello Cupcake. The set has fun cupcake images and some great sentiments. And it’s FREE with an order of $50 or more of product.

Here’s one of the new recruit packets that I just recently created – and handed out! Also a 5 by 8 inch notebook which I covered as a gift for my new recruit.
I used the Painted with Love Specialty DSP and simply covered the notebook. I then used a piece of rich razzleberry to heat emboss the sentiment from Crafting Forever in copper. It’s one of my favourite sentiments – Do something creative every day. I truly believe that this is key to be happy. I added a copper foil mat cut out with the Stitched Shapes framelits dies.
Here’s the actual folder itself. I based it on one that Brenda Quintana made. I took a piece of 12 by 12 DSP and scored it at 3 inches to make the pocket. Then on the other side I scored at 6 inches. Then I cut at 1/4 inch and 11 3/4 inches just down to the 3 inch score line. This gives you a little tab to add glue so that everything is secure. I also cut a V to make it close better. I added a sheet of useful numbers and web sites along with my business card; also a welcome letter and card and my class schedule (including my team’s monthly meeting).
If you’d like to receive one of these welcome packets, all you have to do is to choose $125 of product and then press the Join My Team button below and follow the instructions. I’ll then receive an email telling me that you’ve signed up and I’ll send a package to you.

I won the stamp set that coordinates with the Eclectic Layers thinlits dies at Onstage in Amsterdam and I swapped it with my sister. It just didn’t seem to be me although I did like the look of the thinlits. Until Nicki sent me a card using it recently and then the Eclectic bundle leapt onto my next order. I’m not actually using the stamp set here, although I have plans, but just the thinlits make a beautiful card.
The diamond shaped cut out is really striking – and I’m already planning to use it as a mask for stenciling and embossing paste. I cut a piece of Naturally Eclectic DSP to put behind it and that drove the choice of emerald envy for my leaf card stock. The flowers are cut each using 2 pieces from the Eclectic Layers in berry burst. There is a detailed die which cuts out the inside of the flower and then a framelit which cuts around the edge. This means that there is a lot of scope for layering with this set of dies.
My sentiment comes from Bunch of Blossoms which probably doesn’t come as a surprise to you! It’s an awesome sentiment and I also like how it looks. Win – Win! I stamped it in more berry burst and cut it out with the stitched shapes framelits dies and popped it up with dimensionals.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project.

When I don’t have a card in my head, I sometimes pick a stamp set at random and decide that the card will just use that. Yesterday I picked up Background Bits, a hostess set. The card didn’t turn out as I planned; in fact, the stamp I’d selected as the main focus didn’t even get inked up in the end! It’s fun seeing how cards evolve.
I started by washing some pear pizzazz and soft sky over a piece of watercolor paper with an aquapainter. Whilst that was drying, I stamped another of the images from Background Bits in pool party onto the pool party card base. Next I made my “label” – the sentiment is actually in one long line, but that wasn’t what I wanted so I only inked up one word at a time so that I could place it where I wanted it. I actually had to do this twice as I smudged the first one whilst using the stitched shapes framelits dies to cut it out. The second time I waited and occupied myself in tying a bow with the beautiful pool party 3/8 inch shimmer ribbon. Finally I stamped my flower image in night of navy and then added a mat of the same color. After that, all that remained was construction.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project.
