Inspiring Iris part 2

I was going to use the chrysanthemum stamps today but then I noticed an adorable tulip and changed my plans.

I used garden green and poppy parade and carefully inked up the appropriate part of the stamp  so that the tulip was red and the stem was green. I repeated it three times and cut it out using the Stitched Shapes dies. Before popping it up, I placed it on the card to help position the sentiment. If I’d popped it up and tried to stamp half over the popped up bit, it wouldn’t have worked very well.

As I said on my Facebook Live this morning, I think this set is a sleeper. I had it for months before inking it up and I really love it. Here’s a link to my Facebook Live: https://www.facebook.com/MyElegantCards/videos/231395538171654/

Heat embossed Seaside Notions

For my second card using Seaside Notions this week, I decided to use white heat embossing.

This is grapefruit grove card stock (which will be retiring at the beginning of June so stock up now if you love it) and I stamped the shells in versamark and used the white embossing powder. Oddly, the whisper white sentiment that I prepared looked too stark so I’ve actually used very vanilla. I added some of the brand new gilded gems which are part of the Ornate Garden Suite which has been released early and is available for you to purchase now.

I have another card using Seaside Notions which I will share sometime this week.

Seaside Notions

This week I’m having fun with the Seaside Notions stamp set; it’s an 11 cling stamp set (149278) for only $23.

I stamped the shells and sand in sahara sand and then added a frame also in sahara sand. First I used the Pinewood Planks 3D embossing folder and then the rectangular stitched dies to cut out the centre. I layered this onto a merry merlot card base and carried the same colour to the sentiment (also from Seaside Notions) which I cut out with the stitched shapes framelit dies.

Do the impossible again

This card using the Do the impossible stamp set is close to my heart. I’m a runner, sort of. I’m slow and I am massively talented at spraining an ankle (I can fall over acorns!) but I haven’t run all month because I was sick. But it’s almost time to gird my loins and my courage and venture out again. I have a hatred of treadmills, even if they are acorn free.

So I stamped the background trees using the Mountain Air stamp set and garden green. The runners were stamped using sahara sand stamped off once and then coloured using watercolour pencils and a blender pen. It’s so relaxing colouring away. I had to put some pink on the girl because my brother’s computer is by the window and he’s been telling me that all the fast female runners are wearing neon pink. My girl isn’t wearing neon pink but it’s the closest I have. I suspect that’s why my apple watch, that he helped my father select, has a pomegranate strap!

I used night of navy for the sentiment, cut out with my much used stitched shapes dies and popped it up with dimensionals. The card base is garden green with a layer of night of navy.

Daisy Lane Ferns

I mentioned that I was finding it hard to stop using Daisy Lane – here’s another example this time using the fern stamp.

Stampin' Up! Daisy Lane

I cut a 2 inch strip of whisper white and then inked up the fern stamp in granny apple green. Using a sponge dauber, I added a little shaded spruce onto the stamp before stamping onto the whisper white. I cleaned the darker green off the stamp and repeated.

Next I matted the white strip with a piece of shaded spruce cut at 2 1/8 inches wide to give a very skinny border and mounted that onto a granny apple green card. I seem to be stuck on granny apple green at the moment – I think it’s to help me get over missing lemon lime twist!

The sentiment was stamped in shaded spruce and cut out with my favourite stitched shapes dies and then popped up with stampin’ dimensionals.

I’m a member of the Talented Tutorial Team and each month the 14 of us create a bundle of 14 tutorials – mine for next month uses granny apple green!!. For every $10 in product that you order through me, I’ll send you one of them. If you spend $50, I’ll send you all 14.
