Flower and Field DSP

As you know, the new January – July Mini catalog is officially live; I hope you’re enjoying it. This week I’m showing cards using one of the free Designer Series papers that you can earn for free with a $50 order, the Flower and Field DSP.

As I mentioned on Wednesday, I’m in need of birthday cards and I decided to use the Flower and Field DSP to make a stack. For this card, I cut a piece of the DSP to 5 1/2 by 2 inches and then layered it onto a basic black mat before putting it on a Petal Pink card base. This means that with this layout you can make 12 cards out of one sheet of DSP! The sentiment again comes from the new stamp set, Sweet Ice Cream. It was stamped in memento tuxedo black ink and cut out with the Stitched Rectangle dies.

I hope that you’ll make an order so that you can get this great paper. If you’re still not ready yet, I’ll be showing another card using the Flower and Field DSP on Sunday and then demonstrating it on my live at 11am…

Flower and Field DSP

The new January – July Mini catalog is officially live; I hope you’re enjoying it. You can download the pdf on the right hand side. Today I’m showcasing one of the free Designer Series papers that you can earn for free with a $50 order – Flower and Field DSP.

I don’t know about you, but I’m in need of birthday cards and the Flower and Field DSP seems perfect to make a handful quite rapidly. For this card, I merely cut a piece of the DSP to 5 1/4 by 4 inches and then layered it onto a thick whisper white card base. I wanted a big happy looking birthday greeting and I found this one in the new stamp set, Sweet Ice Cream. It was stamped in memento tuxedo black ink and cut out with the Stitched Rectangle dies. The final touch was a bow in Bumblebee.

I hope that you’ll make an order so that you can get this great paper. If you’re not ready yet, I’ll be showing another card using the Flower and Field DSP on Friday…

Celebrate Sunflowers bundle

This week I’m completely confused about what day it is and forgot to post this on Sunday as I had planned. I can’t really understand that because I remembered to do my Facebook Live on the right day! I used both parts of the Celebrate Sunflowers bundle for this card.

The dies that were used for this card may have been overlooked since they don’t cut out any stamped images. So I decided to make them the focus of my card. The colors used for the greenery were Just Jade and Shaded Spruce and they were layered onto a very vanilla layer which was then matted with Shaded Spruce.

After wrapping the Just Jade ribbon around the layer, it was adhered to a Just Jade card base. The sentiment, also from Celebrate Sunflowers, was stamped in Just Jade and then cut out with the Stitched Rectangle dies. The final touch were the little ladybug embellishments which are a sneak peek from the upcoming catalog that will be live on January 4th.

I demonstrated this card and 2 others on Sunday at 11am on my regular Facebook Live. You can catch a replay or check it out on YouTube. Links below.

High Tide

This week I’m focusing on the images in the set High Tide (143006, $26). It’s a photopolymer 16 stamp set with images and sentiments. I’ve used some of the sentiments, but not the images.  So here goes!

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - High Tide - In the Pines - Stitched Rectangle Dies

The images were stamped in pool party and early espresso with the birds getting a coating of clear wink of Stella so that they look almost wet. Rectangle Stitched Dies were used to cut out the image and then a pool party mat was added. The sentiment, which comes from In The Pines was stamped on a thick whisper white card base in pool party.

I’ll be making another couple of cards using the High Tide set this week, which I’ll make in my facebook live on Sunday at 11am.

Joseph’s Coat

If you follow my blog, and I hope you do, you know that this week I’m exploring the Joseph’s Coat technique.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Joseph's Coat - Blossoms in Bloom - Stitched Rectangle Dies

As before, you start by covering a piece of cardstock in whatever colours you like.  This time I applied Just Jade, Pacific Point, Gorgeous Grape and Magenta Madness with sponge daubers. Leave it to get really dry.

Next grab a stamp set and using versamark, stamp on the card and then sprinkle with clear embossing powder and heat. The stamp set on this card is the Blossoms in Bloom which I stamped using my stamparatus. This was mostly because I couldn’t find my I block (yes, my craft room really needs a tidy!) but it was useful to ensure that I got good coverage.

When the embossing was dry, I covered the card in Pretty Peacock. Next I used a paper towel to wipe off the colour on the raised images and that lets the colours shine through.

I added a Gorgeous Grape layer as a mat and mounted this onto a Pretty Peacock card base. The sentiment is also from Blossoms in Bloom and cut out with the Stitched Rectangle dies.

I’ll be demonstrating three cards made with the Joseph’s Coat technique on Sunday on Facebook Live at 11am EST and also will upload that to YouTube.
