Pattern Party DSP

As I’ve mentioned, the Pattern Party DSP is at the back of the annual catalogue and can only be bought with host rewards. The 48 piece 12 by 12 inch DSP (4 each of 12 double sided designs) is a $30 value but costs just $18 of your host rewards. I’m using it this week to increase my birthday card stash. Here I’m using one of the 12 black and white patterns.

Cut a piece of the Pattern Party DSP to 5 1/2 by 2 inches and mat it with Poppy Parade using my ruler tip. Add this to a thick white card base – Basic or Whisper, whatever you have.

Next stamp the sentiment from Shaded Summer in Poppy Parade. Cut it out using the Stitched Rectangle Dies and add it to the card using dimensionals.

Finally, use the dark Poppy Parade blend and colour a few basic rhinestones. Add them to the card; my preference is to use the Take Your Pick tool.

The Pattern Party DSP pack is excellent value and I suspect I’ll be returning to it soon. I’ve barely scraped the surface. The colors included are Crushed Curry, Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green, Misty Moonlight, Pale Papaya, Petal Pink, Pool Party & Poppy Parade. On the reverse side all the designs are black and white.

I’ll be demonstrating this card and 2 others later on at my Facebook Live at 11am EST. Join me then at my mini class where, for a $25 order, I’ll send you the card pieces needed to make these cards. I also upload it to YouTube.

Artistically Inked

I wanted to play with the “splotch” stamp today and then realized that some Gilded Leafing would really set off the card. So although I intended to use my Artistic Dies this week, this card doesn’t use them.

The splodge was stamped in Merry Merlot to almost cover the card layer. Once I was sure it was dry, I added the multipurpose glue and Gilded Leafing, rubbing it in with my finger.

This layer was then added to a Merry Merlot Card base. All that remained was to stamp the sentiment (from Artistically Inked) in Merry Merlot. It was die cut using the Stitched Rectangle dies and popped up with dimensionals.

I held a mini card class with this card and 2 others on Sunday on Facebook at 11am. I also uploaded it to YouTube. Can’t believe that I forgot to publish this on Sunday.

Artistically Inked Bundle

This week, having finally found my Artistic Dies, I am using the whole Artistically Inked bundle. As with the previous card, the Wink of Stella doesn’t photograph well but it’s on the Polished Pink flowers.

Here’s another clean and simple thank you card using the Artistically Inked Bundle. I die cut the main image in Evening Evergreen and then attached it to a Very Vanilla layer with the multipurpose liquid glue.

As a reminder: I squeeze out some glue onto a piece of scrap and then use the glue tip to pick up a little at a time. This means there’s no danger of squeezing the container and having a large blob of ink fall onto your project.

Next I stamped the trio of flowers in Polished Pink and then added a little Wink of Stella. Just enough to add sparkle but not working so hard as to move any ink. This was then added to an Evening Evergreen card base and basic rhinestones were added.

Finally, I stamped the sentiment, from Artistically Inked, in Evening Evergreen and cut it out with the Stitched Rectangle dies. It was added to the card using dimensionals.

I’ll be holding a mini card class with this card and 2 others on Sunday on Facebook at 11am. Join me there.

Whimsy & Wonder DSP

I really love the Whimsy & Wonder DSP so I decided to do more cards using it – mostly patterns I haven’t used yet. Starting with this beautiful Blushing Bride one.

The Whimsy & Wonder DSP was cut to 5 by 3 3/4 inches and matted with silver foil. The silver foil really set off the silver in the DSP nicely although if you’re short of foil, white would work. This left a nice wide border showing the Blushing Bride card base.

The sentiment came from the Stars are Shining stamp set and is heat embossed using silver embossing powder. The piece of Blushing Bride was then die cut using the Stitched Rectangle dies and popped up with dimensionals.

I’ll be making this card along with 2 others on my Facebook Live on Sunday at 11am. Come and join me. Place an order of $25 and receive a free card kit to make the cards. Share my live and be put in the weekly raffle.

Snowflake Wishes

Here’s my third Christmas card of the week, still using Snowflake Wishes. On this card, I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and got our the Soft Pastels assortment. Let me know what you think.

I grabbed all of the snowflake dies and stamped them on a piece of Whisper White using Versamark. Next I sprinkled over clear embossing powder and heated until shiny.

Then I used the Bermuda Bay and Night of Navy pastels and laid down some color onto the snowflakes, using a blending brush between colors. The Night of Navy seems to have mostly overpowered the Bermuda Bay. The one I made on my Live this morning was the other way around. Clearly I need more practice on these Pastels.

Next, I trimmed the layer – the edge picks up more color and I wanted it to have a most consistent look. It was then matted it in Night of Navy and adhered to a Whisper White card base. One of the Wondrous Snowflakes was added to the front of the card where it really twinkles. Finally the sentiment, from Snowflake Wishes, was stamped in Night of Navy. This was die cut using the Stitched Rectangle Dies and popped up with dimensionals.

I made this card along with two others using the Snowflake Wishes bundle on my Facebook Live this morning at 11am EST. Watch the replay on either Facebook or YouTube.
