It’s time to bid a fond farewell to another pairing – the Paisleys and Posies stamp set and the Paisley Framelits dies – neither part will be in the upcoming catalog, so if you want them, get them now. Here I made my own background with a number of the beautiful stamps and then highlighted one of them with a copper die cut.
Here I added some colour with the stampin’ write markers
And here’s one showcasing one of the beautiful sentiments in the set
This one showcases a die cut from the Paisley framelits dies
I hope you enjoyed today’s projects – if you need this stamp set and the dies, hurry before they are out of stock. Whilst the stamp set is guaranteed until May 25th, the dies are as supplies last.

Today I wanted to highlight one of my favourite papers in the Petals and Paisleys Specialty DSP pack – indeed one of the papers which make this pack a Specialty one. It’s the night of navy with copper foil embossing and it’s beautiful. It’s also on sale right now at $5.20 instead of $13.
The big flower was towards the edge of the remaining piece of the DSP and I decided to use that as my focal point. After I’d trimmed it down, it was an odd size – too big to easily add a sentiment, too small to really carry the card on its own. So I added a copper border so that it almost looks as if the design is carved into the night of navy cardstock to allow the copper to show through. I then added another night of navy layer with more copper foil. If I’d designed this up front, I could’ve cut the smaller rectangle from the larger which would have been more economical. But I think this DSP deserves the extravagance!
My adopted upline challenged her team to make 10 cards with DSP and actually send them. In looking back at my recent cards, there has been an unusual amount of DSP – now all I need to do is SEND them!
Maybe you could help me out – if you would like a new 2017-2018 catalog, contact me and I’ll send you one (when they arrive) along with a card showcasing DSP!

In case you haven’t guessed, I’m on vacation this week which ought to mean that I have extra carding time and I’m more efficient than usual. Not so. I seem to be posting later and later. My sister is visiting and although we’ve planned days of carding, today is the first day of actual doing rather than just talking!
I wanted to showcase not only a carrying over item but also one on the clearance rack. The Petals and Paisleys Specialty DSP is currently still available and is 30% off but the stamp set in the same suite, Paisleys and Posies is carrying over. There are matching framelits which are also carrying over but if you want the bundle of framelits and stamp set, you need to get it by January 3rd because the bundle pricing is going away.
Here I cut a piece of the copper embossed DSP (it’s one of the sheets which make this paper collection specialty) and amazingly had a piece of copper foil leftover to match. It required just a half inch trim off the length and it was perfect. I tried (again) to pull in a copper foil embellishment which I’d cut with the matching framelits but it was not working – this one had been on my leftovers pile for a while! Instead, I used the sentiment from Paisleys and Posies and heat embossed it in copper and then cut it out with the stitched shapes framelits – love the effect the stitching gives. Often the stitching is enough but this is such a flashy card, it needed another oval, this time of copper foil. It’s a fairly simple layout, but with all the copper shining, it’s a pretty special card.
Don’t forget the great close out sale currently going on and also the offer from me – a new, free stamp set. Just spend $40 with me and use the workshop code CBUJ4GTP, and you get to select one of Hey, Chick, Delicate Details or Designer Tee which I’ll send you for free once I close out this workshop on January 3rd. As you may have suspected after yesterday’s post, this one features the Paisley Framelits Dies again! But my pile of copper foil cut outs is still waiting for use, today I used mint macaron. I expect to play some more later today…
I cut my piece of the beautiful Petals & Paisleys Specialty DSP to the same height as my delightful dijon card base – 4 1/4 inches and just 4″ wide to give me a wide border. The mat of mint macaron is just 1/8 inch wider – I love how it pulls the mint macaron out of the DSP. To make the banner, I first stamped the sentiment from the Suite Sayings set in delightful dijon on very vanilla. This is one of the great things about this DSP, it’s based on very vanilla. I like the warmer feel that this gives. Then I cut down my banner to a smidge under an inch so that it fit nicely in the triple banner punch. I was determined to get the decoration in that I’d cut with the Paisley Framelits Dies out of mint macaron, I started with a square sentiment and played around until the banner made more sense. So I’m happy to say that the banner was appropriately sized the first time (unusual!) to allow for the embellishment which I glued on using little dots of tombow glue. I then popped up the banner on dimensionals.

Stop hoarding your DSP and especially the metallic specialty papers. I decided to pull out the absolutely gorgeous piece of the Petals and Paisleys Specialty DSP and make a card. And I can’t stop looking at it. It’s so beautiful. It looks even better in real life, so make your own so that you can admire the true beauty of this one.
I wanted a large border of night of navy (which matches the DSP) to give some semblance of quiet to the rather busy card. But don’t you love the copper? I cut a piece of copper foil sheets to frame the DSP and I love it! I continued the copper theme by embossing the sentiment from Watercolor Wishes onto very vanilla card stock (don’t forget the embossing buddy) and then cut it out using the layering oval framelits dies. I then cut out a scalloped oval using the same dies from the centre of the copper foil that I used on this card – you can’t tell, so why not?! Then it was a simple matter of construction – I used snail to adhere card on to the top of the copper because it’s slippery and then I popped up the sentiment piece on dimensionals.
I really adore the Petals and Paisleys Specialty DSP and am determined to use all of this single piece of embossed paper. There’s no point having it in your files, doing nothing until it retires. Just get it out and cut it up and share it!
