Remarkable You and Hello Sunshine

It’s Thursday and thus another challenge over at CAS Colours & Sketches – this week it’s a colour challenge. Here’s what I made

Stampin' Up! Remarkable You and Hello Sunshine

and here’s the colour banner which inspired it

I hope that you’ll come and play. I used the beautiful set Remarkable You and embossed the image in silver on watercolour paper. And then I was determined to use the Paper Pumpkin February 2016 set (Hello Sunshine) which just arrived. Okay, I actually asked my brother to go to the mailbox to get the red box playing my “I have a sprained ankle” card again. He’s very nice that way. So I had to open the box and look at everything and then use one of the new sentiments for my card which I stamped in elegant eggplant. After that I used my aquapainter (filled with water by my brother) to watercolour the flower in elegant eggplant and wisteria wonder. The piece of watercolour paper looked good on an elegant eggplant base and I adhered it using fast fuse which is great for the watercolour paper.

I lined the envelope using the big shot and the envelope liner framelits in elegant eggplant to match the card base. The watercolour paper isn’t white or very vanilla but somewhere between so it doesn’t matter which way you go!

See you tomorrow,

Paper Pumpkin February 2016 – Hello Sunshine

My Paper Pumpkin for this month is on its way. In fact, I think it’s in New Jersey already. Here’s the Stampin’ Up! Youtube video showcasing this month’s kit.

In case you don’t know about Paper Pumpkin, here are the details:

  • Each month you receive a unique, surprise kit with a project. It’s colour-coordinated and everything is pre-cut
  • Each kit includes stamps, ink, paper, accessories and instructions – everything but adhesive.
  • Each kit gives you about 30 minutes of fun
  • Your Paper Pumpkin ships around the 15th of the month.
  • You need to sign up for a kit by the 10th of the month to get that month’s kit. If you sign up on the 11th of the month, your first kit will come the next month.
  • A Paper Pumpkin membership is $19.95 per month (and shipping is included!) There’s no commitment, you can cancel or put your subscription on hold at any time.
  • Just click on the Paper Pumpkin button on the left hand side to join up.

During Sale-a-bration, the 3 month prepaid subscription is on sale for $55 (normally 59.85) and better than that, if you buy it you also get a free item from the Sale-a-bration catalogue. I’ve taken advantage of that myself.

I’ve started a class on (usually) the last Friday of the month to get together and put together the kits. I’m also including an extra project. If you’re local to Randolph, NJ, sign up and come on by for some fun.

See you tomorrow,

Liz

Paper Pumpkin January 2016 Alternate 2

Here’s the last Valentine’s card for this year. I meant to post it yesterday of course but I’ve spent the last two days elevating my ankle as often as possible. It aches if I sit in a chair – presumably two days in the office in a row were a bit too much. It’s lucky that I can work from home.

Stampin' Up! Acorny Thank You and January 2016 Paper Pumpkin

I made this during my melon mambo phase at the crop and it was liked so much that I had to make a spare one for a fellow cropper. It’s a pretty good feeling when someone really wants one of your cards. It was also a pretty good feeling when Acorny Thank You made it to the list of continuing sets and I wanted to combine it with the Paper Pumpkin January 2016 set, Cute Conversations, to make a Valentine’s card. I carefully used the acorn builder punch to cut out an acorn as far away from the edge as possible. Then I stamped the dotty acorn hat and the sentiment and cut out both of these with the punch. I then layered the whisper white piece over a square of melon mambo cardstock, popping it up on dimensionals. The dotty hat was then added through the hole to ensure that I got it in the right place. The right hand acorn was then carefully glued only on one side and then added. I figured out the placement and then stamped the XOXO which comes from the January 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit. Then, after that was safely stamped, I glued down the square of melon mambo.

I lined the envelope with the envelope liners framelits and the retired backgrounds DSP from the brights collection.

Today’s the last day that you can be guaranteed to be able to get the three limited time freebies from the Sale-a-bration catalogue and it marks half way through what is the best sale of the year! It’s also half way through your opportunity to join Stampin’ Up! and get $155 worth of product for $99 with free shipping. There’s no risk because if you like, that can be the last time you ever buy anything. That’s a lot of free product…

See you tomorrow,

Paper Pumpkin

You have until Wednesday to sign up for Paper Pumpkin and get this month’s box. Why would you? Well, it’s a kit in a box, you don’t need anything extra (apart from adhesive on occasion) and you have a professionally prepped kit to work on. The pieces are cut, where necessary, and everything is ready. You get a ink spot (or two) and a stamp set that will obviously last past the Paper Pumpkin kit. There are always extra pieces that you can use on other projects and if you sign up with me, you get to come and put your kit together with my group and get an extra project free. If you’re not local, I’ll send you the product that you need for the extra project. So why wait?

Even better, until the 31st March, you can prepay for 3 months saving almost $5 AND get a free item from the Sale-a-bration catalog. You can’t ask for more than that! By the way, the last three items in the SAB catalog are for a limited time only (until 16th February) when three new items are availab.le. Which to go for? It’s a hard choice. I really love some of the items that are going away, but I am excited by the new ones too. I’ve put my order together ready so that I can get the new items on February 16th. I hope you have too! If not, take a look at the catalogs – the links are on your left.

See you tomorrow,
