Rooted in Nature again

I decided to use a different incolor for the next Rooted in Nature card. Here I show you Misty Moonlight. I can’t decide if this is my favourite new color or the Just Jade that I showed on Wednesday.

I don’t have the new inks yet but luckily April’s paper pumpkin contained a little Misty Moonlight stampin’ spot. So I was able to stamp both the tree and the sentiment. The background is the new 2020-2022 incolor DSP and I layered that onto a whisper white layer before adding it to the misty moonlight card base.

I used the Stitched so Sweetly die set to create the layer for my die cut tree and the Stitched Nested Labels for the sentiment. The final touch was an overhand knot in the new Misty Moonlight 1/4 inch ribbon attached with a glue dot.

Rooted in Nature

The product that I’m playing with this week is the Rooted in Nature stamp set and matching dies. The Nature’s Roots Framelits Dies are on the last chance list BUT they aren’t retiring, they are being reconfigured with a new item number and name. But they are reduced in price so it is a good time to snap them up.

I’m also showcasing one of the new 2020-2022 in colors – Just Jade. I’ve used a piece of the Forever Greenery DSP which I think is my favourite new paper and also the 2020-2022 in colour enamel dots.

So I used a Just Jade card base with a piece of the upcoming DSP layered onto Soft Suede. I snipped out my tree trunk (very easy) and embossed and cut out the leaves using the Nature’s Roots Framelits dies and layered it on my banner which I cut out using the triple banner punch. I then sprinkled on a few of the new in colour enamel dots.

I can’t wait to play with the other new colours as well.

Let me know if you don’t already work with a demonstrator and would like a catalog. Just email me at lizbaileycards@gmail.com

Rooted in Nature

One of the new bundles in the catalog that caught my eye immediately is Rooted in Nature with the matching Nature’s Roots framelits dies.

Here I’ve paired it with the Subtle embossing folder for some texture and shaded spruce and granny apple green for a masculine birthday card. Actually it was for my brother, Martin.

When you’re using the banner triple punch it’s a good idea to cut the cardstock just a smidge narrower than the punch. It allows you to make banners of 1″, 1.5″ and 2″. I like to be about 1/16″ less so that it will slide in easily. It’s also a good idea to have the words showing through the punch so that you can be certain you’re not punching some of the sentiment by accident.
