I’m continuing to use the Stitched Leaves dies part of the Love of Leaves bundle along with Evening Evergreen, one of the new in colors.

I am really excited about Evening Evergreen; it’s such a rich green. It’s helping me get over the retirement of Pretty Peacock.

First I die cut one of the leaves in Evening Evergreen using the Stitched Leaves dies which, as suggested by the name, provides a stitched border. This was matted on Very Vanilla and then the sentiment from Love of Leaves was stamped in Evening Evergreen. Normally I would do the sentiment stamping before constructing the card, but here I needed to be sure about placement. Finally, this was adhered to an Evening Evergreen card base.

Love of Leaves bundle

Continuing on with using the Stitched Leaves dies part of the Love of Leaves bundle along with some of the new in colors.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Love of Leaves - Stitched Leaves dies

I used a number of the embossing dies on both Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen and then die cut them using the Stitched Leaves dies. I love the embossing on the leaves. They were then arranged on a white card base. 

The sentiment, from the Love of Leaves set, is stamped on more Soft Succulent in Evening Evergreen and cut out with the Painted Labels dies. It was popped up with dimensionals and a Evening Evergreen bow was added. The finishing touch were some Evening Evergreen in-color jewels .

Love of Leaves bundle

I’ve used the Love of Leaves stamp set before, but I didn’t really explore the dies – this week I intend to remedy that.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Love of Leaves - Stitched Leaves dies

I used the embossing die on a piece of the new incolor Pale Papaya and then cut it out using the Stitched Leaves dies. Then I sponged some So Saffron and Mango Melody onto the leaf followed by Wink of Stella. This was layered onto a piece of Very Vanilla which was matted with Pale Papaya

The sentiment, from Love of Leaves, is stamped on Very Vanilla and cut out with the Stitched so sweetly dies. It was popped up with dimensionals and a Pale Papaya bow was added. The finishing touch were some in-color jewels again in Pale Papaya.

Prized Peony

This week’s product is the Prized Peony bundle although I’m only using the Prized Peony stamp set today. And I couldn’t decide on which color I liked best, so I made both! Which do you prefer?

Both cards are the same – and hard to photograph – they look better in person! I used versa mark for the image and the sentiment and heat embossed the silver powder. I added a mat of silver foil to match the embossing. The sentiment comes from Love of Leaves. The card bases are two of the new in colors (and my favorites of the five) Just Jade and Misty Moonlight.

I’ll be showing these cards along with the two earlier in the week on my Facebook Live on Sunday at 11am EST – I also upload it to YouTube.

Love of Leaves bundle

The Love of Leaves bundle consists of the Love of Leaves stamp set and the Stitched Leaves dies (155195, $47.50). As I mentioned earlier, the die cuts leave the stitched detail on what you’ve cut out of. Obviously, I needed to use that piece too.

This time I used Very Vanilla as my card base and top layer.  First I die cut the leaf out of the top layer. You could just layer it on top of the mango melody layer but I decided to use sponge daubers and give more texture. Next was the sentiment which is from the Love of Leaves set and stamped in Mango Melody.

This is a very simple card to make but I think it’s quite effective. When die cutting this card, I realised that I haven’t yet played with the embossing parts of the die set. I definitely need to do that!
