Flower and Field DSP Box

Last week I was showing cards using one of the free Designer Series papers that you can earn for free with a $50 order, the Flower and Field DSP. I got a little carried away and continued to make more cards. Once I had 8, I decided I needed a box to put them in along with envelopes.

I based this box on one I saw Ronda Wade make. She pointed out that the piece of thicker board at the back of the DSP pack (the one that has the colours listed) is perfect for box building.

First cut your card to 12 by 8.5 inches. Then proceed to score and 1 1/4 and 7 1/4 (or 1 1/4 from each end). Then score the long side at 1/2, 1 1/4, 4 1/2, 6 1/4 and 7 3/4. Fold on your score lines.

If you want to add DSP with mats, here’s what you need: Mats: (one regular sheet of cardstock) 2 of each: 4 1/8 by 5 5/8, 1 1/8 by 5 5/8 and 1 1/8 by 4/18.

For the DSP to go on the mats, you’ll need a sheet of 12 by 5 1/2 and cut 2 of each: 4 by 5 1/2, 1 by 5 1/2 and 1 by 4. Adhere the DSP to the matching mats and then to the box skeleton. You can also just stamp your own design on the card before scoring if you prefer.

Cut out and remove the black colored boxes and cut up the sides of the magenta ones. Put strong glue on the RIGHT SIDE of the magenta boxes and cut off a little triangle from them so your box will close better.

Finally put glue on the inside of the cinnamon cider boxes and finish making your box.

I made a belly band 1 1/4 inch wide using So Saffron but of course it’s only 11 inches long. So I attached the sentiment, cut out on a Stitched Shapes Framelits dies, and fixed the ends of the belly band to it. Just be careful not to make it too tight. I’m going to make the box next Sunday on my live and show you how easy it is. It sounds complicated, but it really isn’t.

I hope that you’ll make an order so that you can get this beautifully happy paper. I’ve already redeemed it twice! My live showing three cards that I’ve blogged about using the Flower and Field DSP is on both Facebook and YouTube if you want to have a look.

Flower and Field DSP

This week I’m showing cards using one of the free Designer Series papers that you can earn for free with a $50 order, the Flower and Field DSP. It’s very happy paper as you’ve been seeing! And in fact, I wanted to make more with it so kept on crafting after my Live yesterday.

This was the reverse side of the daisy piece of the Flower and Field DSP that I used yesterday. I again cut a 3 inch square of the DSP and added a basic black  mat. The sentiment was stamped in memento tuxedo black on to a granny apple green card base and then the DSP square was attached. As I had another square, I made two and had 8 cards ready to go. Come back tomorrow to see the box that I made to put them in along with envelopes.

As you can see, I’m continuing on with the birthday theme and this piece of the Flower and Field DSP is really spring like. I cut a 3 by 3 inch square of the DSP and matted it with So Saffron. This was then mounted onto a Granny Apple Green card base and the sentiment was stamped directly onto the card base. This layout would give you 16 cards out of a single DSP sheet – even more than Friday’s card!

I hope that you’ll make an order so that you can get this great paper. I’ll be showing all three cards that I’ve blogged about using the Flower and Field DSP later on today on my live at 11am. Come and join me and I’ll show you both sides of all 6 sheets of DSP.

Flower and Field DSP

As you know, the new January – July Mini catalog is officially live; I hope you’re enjoying it. This week I’m showing cards using one of the free Designer Series papers that you can earn for free with a $50 order, the Flower and Field DSP.

As I mentioned on Wednesday, I’m in need of birthday cards and I decided to use the Flower and Field DSP to make a stack. For this card, I cut a piece of the DSP to 5 1/2 by 2 inches and then layered it onto a basic black mat before putting it on a Petal Pink card base. This means that with this layout you can make 12 cards out of one sheet of DSP! The sentiment again comes from the new stamp set, Sweet Ice Cream. It was stamped in memento tuxedo black ink and cut out with the Stitched Rectangle dies.

I hope that you’ll make an order so that you can get this great paper. If you’re still not ready yet, I’ll be showing another card using the Flower and Field DSP on Sunday and then demonstrating it on my live at 11am…

Flower and Field DSP

The new January – July Mini catalog is officially live; I hope you’re enjoying it. You can download the pdf on the right hand side. Today I’m showcasing one of the free Designer Series papers that you can earn for free with a $50 order – Flower and Field DSP.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Flower and Field DSP - Stitched Rectangle Dies

I don’t know about you, but I’m in need of birthday cards and the Flower and Field DSP seems perfect to make a handful quite rapidly. For this card, I merely cut a piece of the DSP to 5 1/4 by 4 inches and then layered it onto a thick whisper white card base. I wanted a big happy looking birthday greeting and I found this one in the new stamp set, Sweet Ice Cream. It was stamped in memento tuxedo black ink and cut out with the Stitched Rectangle dies. The final touch was a bow in Bumblebee.

I hope that you’ll make an order so that you can get this great paper. If you’re not ready yet, I’ll be showing another card using the Flower and Field DSP on Friday…
