I found a new (to me) challenge site this week, Just Us Girls and they are running a colour challenge, my favourite.
It was fairly tricky to decide which colours to use since there’s a lot of latitude in the challenge guidelines. Here’s the challenge banner:
So not only is there choice of which colours from the list to use, there’s also the choice of WHICH of the many shades to use. I had lost lagoon out on my table already and decided to use hello honey with it. That meant it was an easy decision to pull the green from the 2014 in colours to go with them. I punched out the balloon shapes from the three cardstocks using the balloon framelits and after playing around with them a little, decided to use words from the Celebrate Today stamp set to decorate them. They were stamped in memento black ink so as to show on the mossy meadow. The other sentiment, celebrate, is also from Celebrate Today and I stamped it in Mossy Meadow on very vanilla. I was wondering what to do about the balloon strings – I’d just received this month’s Paper Pumpkin which has a balloon stamp and a balloon string stamp – when I remembered that I’d got thick bakers twine in the in colours during sale-a-bration. Perfect!
I stuck the lost lagoon and hello honey balloons down with tombow glue, fixing the end of the twine with snail. The mossy meadow balloon is popped up with stampin’ dimensionals. The dangling balloon strings looked a bit untidy so I took another piece of mossy meadow bakers twine and tied a bow around the strings, fixing the back of the bow in place with a glue dot.
The back flap of the envelope is decorated with a strip of paper from the Backgrounds DSP.
See you tomorrow,
Liz
