Blossom Builder Punch

As promised yesterday, I took some time away from cleaning (yes, we’re still not completely vaporised chicken free!) to play with the blossom builder punch which is on sale this week.

I even went one further and used the metallic enamel shapes which are also 25% off through Wednesday. So, what have we got here? I started with melon mambo (a surprise, I know) and stamped the outline of the petal full strength, then the partial petal stamped off once and the full petal stamped off twice. I punched all of them out and then used my bone folder to get some curl – you know, the way that you make curling ribbon really curl with scissors. The centre is a piece of melon mambo card stock just punched out with the blossom builder punch. It’s a fun punch, there are 5 parts to it:

Next was the stalk with is stamped in old olive using the stamp that doesn’t have the watercolour look and then the sentiment. All of the stamping is from the Bunch of Blossoms set which coordinates with the blossom builder punch. Normally they are $35 as a bundle, if you take advantage of the 25% savings and buy them individually, it’s $34.50. But if you previously bought the stamp set and decided you didn’t need the punch, now is the time to get it!

To make the flower, I put a couple of mini glue dots onto the card and started building – I added another glue dot along the way. Then I glued on the little piece of melon mambo card. Here you can see how much 3D effect you can get curling the petals, so much more fun than just stamped flat on the page.

I added three of the silver metallic enamel shapes – just picking them up with my paper snips and putting them down gently until I had all three out and could get them where I wanted them before pressing them down to adhere. I used old olive for my mat and put that onto a melon mambo card base.

I’m glad that the punch is on sale this week and thus pushed me to use it. I had a lot of fun. I may come up with something else for tomorrow using it as well.

See you tomorrow,

Bunch of Blossoms Birthday

It’s time to get out the washi tape again! I’m really trying to use it rather than hoard it – at 5 yards per roll and at about 6 inches per card, there’s enough for 10 cards per roll. Coupled with the beautiful sentiments in Bunch of Blossoms, it’s easy to whip up a quick, pretty card.

Stampin' Up! Bunch of Blossoms and Floral Boutique Designer Washi tape

This is a super easy card to make – I used two coordinating washi tapes, both from the Floral Boutique Designer washi tape set, and added a strip of each to my piece of whisper white folding the edges under the card. I mounted this onto a base of night of navy. The sentiment comes from Bunch of Blossoms – love the typeface – and I’ve stamped it in melon mambo. I cut this out with a punch and cut a mat for it with the circles dies also in night of navy. It’s popped up with dimensionals.

For the envelope, I added a strip of each of the washi tape rolls to the front, trimming the edges right up to the envelope. I’m not sure if it would make it through the mail though – I’ll have to do a test to find out. Either way, it coordinates nicely with the card.

See you tomorrow,

Bunch of Blossoms for CAS on Sunday

No, it’s not Sunday, the challenge blog is called CAS on Sunday and the current challenge is a Clean and Simple Thank You.

Stampin' Up! Tuscan Vineyard and Bunch of Blossoms

I recently bought Tuscan Vineyard and have really been enjoying playing with it. It was perfect for this challenge – I stamped the image in memento black ink and used some delightful dijon and an aquapainter to pull some of the black ink and merge with the yellow. I imagine I could’ve used one of the brown inks that we have, but I was having fun with this. I just wanted to add a touch of colour to the image and leave the rest as it was stamped. I then added the sentiment from Bunch of Blossoms in delightful dijon – what a great typeface, I can see that I’m going to use the sentiments from this set a lot. I think this was the first inking of the set and I’m surprised I waited this long. Oh yes, it was a large order, can’t use everything at once, right?

Since the basket-covered bottle looks quite brown, I used a mat of early espresso before mounting that onto my delightful dijon card base. It’s taken me a while to warm up to delightful dijon, but it really is a great colour.

Now I just have to decide whether to spend the afternoon crafting or trying to make my first video. I’ll finish my coffee first and then decide.

See you tomorrow,

Liz
