Succulent Garden DSP

Have you got the Brushstrokes stamp yet? After I saw Sara’s live demonstration on Facebook, I ordered the stamp and played with it last week adding the stripes to a piece of Inside the Lines DSP which was made for colouring. Next I decided to try the same on a piece of colored DSP, so I chose the Succulent Garden DSP.

The Succulent Garden DSP includes sweet sugarplum in its palette, but not on this piece so I decided to rectify the error! Here I cut my piece of DSP down to size and stamped the Brushstrokes stamp in versamark and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Next I used a sponge dauber to add a fairly light covering of sweet sugarplum to the parts of the DSP not embossed. I was planning to just use one of the almost triangles on my card leaving a fair amount of white space but after I’d stamped my greeting from the Endless Birthday Wishes in old olive, I decided to change the layout. Here it appears as if the celebrates were on a strip across the card whereas they are actually stamped on the cardbase itself with the pieces of DSP added on top.

Inside the Lines Colored

I saw a Facebook Live with the CEO of Stampin’ Up!, Sara Douglass, a few days ago and she was doing an emboss resist card using the Brushstrokes stamp set. Since I seem to be addicted to that technique at the moment, how could I not have a go?

I took a piece of Inside The Lines DSP, which was a paper from Sale-a-bration, and used the versamark and the Brushstrokes stamp before sprinkling the clear embossing powder and heating. I then used the cucumber crush dauber to add some colour to the paper. It really wakes up the paper. Fun. I then added a cucumber crush sentiment from Bunch of Blossoms which I cut out using the Stitched Shapes framelits dies. A little baker’s twine bow in cucumber crush finished the card which was added to a cucumber crush card base.
