Starlight Thinlits Dies

There’s a die in the Starlight Thinlits Dies collection that is unusual and beautiful. It doesn’t cut out a shape or coordinate with a stamp, it cuts out a number of dots and other shapes and creates a gorgeous negative star.

I intended on having a larger piece but it was early and I was without coffee and I put the die at the corner of my piece of emerald envy. As I picked up my piece of silver foil to see how it looked, I realised that this wasn’t a mistake at all (!) and I could just change the card layout and it would be perfect. Next I used the versamark and the sentiment from the set which is bundled with these thinlits – the Star of Light set. I heat embossed using silver powder directly onto the card base. I find that it’s best to have the cardbase unfolded, it seems to do less warping – as does allowing the heat gun to get hot before starting.

Next I used tombow to glue my piece of emerald envy onto the silver foil and then popped that up with dimensionals. I think I’ll use this card in some of my upcoming parties – it’s nice and easy for beginners. Good for mass production too.
