On Saturday I shared a card that I made using the Sleigh Ride Edgelits and mentioned that I’d cut out both Season of Cheer DSP and whisper white card stock at the same time. Once I’d decided that they weren’t going to fit in the same card, I decided to make two.
Today’s card features the bottom half of the DSP; I like how the sleigh and horse are set off by the white background. I decided to keep this one very clean without any extra mats and went searching through my stamp sets for a star that I could perhaps emboss. Nothing felt right. I suddenly remembered my (up to now) unused Softly Falling embossing folder and then the decision was easy. I embossed a piece of whisper white and allowed it to act as a mat. I then put this onto a night of navy card base. The envelope is lined with more of the Season of Cheer DSP using the Envelope liners framelits. The DSP is purposely different shades of blue in the same sheet – the whole stack has a water colour kind of look. It’s one of my favourite DSPs this year.
Here are the two cards side by side for comparison – let me know which you prefer
See you tomorrow,
Liz
They are both beautiful! I came here to say I was particularly drawn to this new one before I even read that you were asking for opinions 🙂
Thanks Rebecca – it’s good to have other opinions.
