I really liked the Ribbon of Courage stamp set when I saw it at Onstage! but I wasn’t sure whether to get it since I didn’t know anyone struggling with cancer. In the end, I decided to get it for the beautiful sentiments and now as it turns out, I’m fighting cancer. Funny how things turn out isn’t it? So I decided to make a card specifically for lung cancer (white ribbon) because I want to send cards to other people fighting the same disease. I haven’t figured out the specifics yet, but I do at least have a card. It’s hard to photograph because I decided to go white on white but in person it’s really beautiful.
I stamped the flowery ribbon in craft ink on whisper white cardstock and sprinkled on the white embossing powder and then heated it. Here’s a closer look:
Since the ribbon for lung cancer is white, I didn’t want to bring in any other colour on this one so the sentiment (also from Ribbon of Courage) is heat embossed in silver. I glued the layer to a thick whisper white card base and that was it. A supremely clean and simple card.

Praying for you every day. Sorry for your health issues. Wishing you a quick recovery.
Thank you so much. I’m doing very well and have been very lucky – I will not need chemo but can take oral pills which will target the cancer. I am so incredibly grateful for my luck. And I’ve learned how important cards are and I spoke today to the nurse about how I can make cards to send to other patients. I think I’ve figured out why I got sick – it was to share cards with others! I am very grateful for your prayers. Liz xx
