It’s Thursday which means it’s time for another challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches and yes, the challenges there should flourish! How about this week you have a go at the challenge yourself? It would be great to see you in the gallery. This week it’s a sketch challenge where Karen wants to see some layering. I chose to go pretty minimalistic so that I could follow the layering of the sketch plus add some embellishments but remain ultra clean and simple.
Here’s the sketch which inspired my card:
The flower was cut out with the Flourish thinlits in sweet sugarplum card stock; next I stamped the sentiment in the same ink onto a scrap of very vanilla which I cropped with one of the layering squares framelits dies. Yes, I could just cut the square myself using the trimmer but it’s so much simpler with the dies! That done, I held the square over the flowers and got them where I wanted them before using the two way glue pen to glue them permanently. The hello square is popped up on dimensionals hiding the stalks. For a final touch, I got out the enamel shapes in the in colours and added four to the buds. It’s probably the first time that I’ve added an even number of them!
This is gorgeous! Love the little enamel dots – nice touch.
Stunning! Love the clean and simple look.

Love this, Liz. I really like flourishes, which I imagine continuing under the card. And I also really like the monochrome scheme – gorgeous! Caro x
