My order containing new supplies arrived today as I was returning from my run (a reward for exercising I think!) and so I’ve been playing this afternoon. The kitchen table is even more of a wreck. Maybe I’ll tidy it tomorrow.
I really like the new colour, watermelon wonder. It is soothing some of the sting of strawberry slush retiring. I decided to watercolour the little cake from Endless Birthday Wishes using only watermelon wonder but adding different amounts of water to get three different tones.
I gave my piece of watercolour paper a skinny (1/16 inch) basic black mat. I intended to use the new Boho chic embossing folder (and it does look good having used it on a piece of watermelon wonder) but it didn’t go with the image. So I pulled out the lucky stars folder to echo the candles on the cake. I mounted this onto a card base of watermelon wonder.
Then I pulled out the envelope punchboard – the card is a regular size, but I had received some envelope paper in the new colours and I wanted to try it out. It’s thinner than cardstock and folds nicely into an envelope, plus one side has pattern so you get the look of a ready lined envelope. All I have to do now is decide which colour to try next…
See you tomorrow,
Liz
Glad watermelon wonder is filing the strawberry slush void!! xx lovely card, my stash arrived yesterday but still haven’t had a chance to play yet đ
