One of the things in the goody bag last weekend was washi tape – winter wonderland designer washi tape to be specific. In fact, I think that every goody bag that I’ve had at the crop weekends so far contain some and I’ve never used it. So I was determined to use it on a card.
I decided to use it as an accent to my red foil merry which I cut out with the Christmas Greetings thinlits dies. I wrapped the washi around a piece of very vanilla and found that it’s REALLY forgiving. You can remove it and move it and stick it down countless times. I tried adding a third strip of the third roll of washi but it was going a bit far and I reverted to the two strips. The merry is sitting on the top strip and I used the fine tip glue pen to adhere it. Also easy. The piece of washi taped wrapped very vanilla is mounted on a card base of real red. Since I still haven’t ordered the new brights DSP stack, I’m using up the retired background for the envelope liner. It’s a good use of retired DSP in my opinion. And goodness knows, I have a lot of it!
Let me know how you like my first use of washi. I also found that it’s useful to seal up packets of mint m&ms if for some reason you didn’t eat them all.
See you tomorrow,
Liz
