Scoop?

A lot of people commented and asked what was happening, so here’s an update. It is much improved. We stayed at a hotel on Friday and Saturday night just to be careful and we’ve been working on cleaning for the whole weekend. Well, maybe not the whole weekend. On Saturday, I had a hair cut with my friend Julia and we worked on a little project at her house. On Sunday, Martin went riding with a work colleague. But the rest of the time, we we’ve been cleaning, running the dishwasher and the laundry and sniffing things. The smell has been absorbed by fabrics so there’s a lot of laundry. Also there’s a sticky residue covering walls and any other surfaces – we’re planning on hiring a service to do a good clean and in the meantime we are cleaning out cupboards. Which haven’t been cleaned in far too long so this is actually a good thing – and we’re throwing things out and that makes me happy. We’re going to end up with a much cleaner house and that’s awesome.

Hopefully tomorrow, I’ll be sharing a card. Come back and see!

Oops

Where am I today? Well we had a culinary disaster yesterday – a pot was left on the stove all day whilst we were at work and the house was full of nasty cough-making smoke. We ended up at a hotel and today has been spent out of the house as much as possible (the veranda is such a great place to sit) with the fans going. I was lucky  – I had a scheduled hair cut. Martin decided against riding because he wanted to keep the house ventilated and divided his time between sitting on the veranda reading and cleaning and washing anything he could find. The house is doing much better but there’s a distinctly plastic smell. My cardstock seems to have survived – unlike my wallet and coffee travel mug which reek – which is great, but I haven’t had much time for carding or blogging. I hope to be back tomorrow but bear with me.

Hopefully see you tomorrow – and please ensure you turn off your stove when leaving the house,

Pineapple and the new in colours

Happy Friday! Today will be a good day – today I graduate after about three months physical therapy on my sprained ankle and other issues with that foot caused after the surgery last year. I’ll miss seeing the people at the facility but I won’t miss the 2 hour chunk of time it takes twice a week!

Stampin' Up! Pineapple and Watercolor Wishes

This is a sneak peek at one of the upcoming stamp sets in the new catalogue, appropriately named, Pineapple. I stamped my pineapple in emerald envy, one of the soon to be released 2016-2018 in colours. I played around with some of the pieces from Swirly Scribbles but in the end decided that I wanted my pineapple to really star, since this is the first time that I’ve used it. On a piece of whisper white scrap I stamped the sentiment from Watercolor Wishes in another of the new colours, sweet sugarplum. To add a little dimension to the card, after I’d glued the whisper white piece to an emerald envy card base, I popped up the sentiment with dimensionals. And that’s all there is to this – a very easy card to make multiples of.

There are just five days to go until the catalogue is released – let me know if you need a copy. Also don’t forget that I’m running a product share, email me at lizbaileycards@gmail.com to take part.

See you tomorrow,

Liz

Plans change

Apologies for the lack of creative posting today, but this morning I received some bad news about my friend Chris and I just couldn’t muster the energy or enthusiasm to create anything. I didn’t know Chris long but he was my favourite person at my new job. He made it fun, we agreed on everything, we got a lot of things done together. And he liked to say that he had no filter. I guess that’s why we got on. And he was really really funny. I’m going to miss him.

Where am I??

Firstly, Happy Birthday to my friend Rebecca.

I have been in Barcelona for the last couple of weeks learning more Spanish and having a fabulous time. I was pleased that I managed to schedule posts for every day that I was away finishing about two minutes before leaving for the airport! The recent lack of posts is because circumstances changed and I extended my stay. Sadly I didn’t have more posts scheduled nor do I have any carding supplies with me.

I will be reunited with my ink and paper on the afternoon of Wednesday 15th so please stop by then or Thursday at which time normal service will resume. If you want a reminder, you can sign up to get new posts by email.

Happy carding in the meantime!

Hasta luego!
