Painted Poppies

This week I’m featuring the Painted Poppies 9 piece cling stamp set (151599, $23). It lends itself to creating gorgeous cards.

I heat embossed the poppies in gold on poppy parade (what else?!) and then used gold foil to set them off better.

Painted Poppies is part of a suite which includes another bundle too (153824) and I’ve used the Peaceful Moments stamp set from it for the sentiment. Just simply stamped in more poppy parade on very vanilla and cut out with the stitched shape dies and then popped up with dimensionals. A simple card but rather elegant, I feel.

Beauty & Joy

Here’s the post featuring the Beauty & Joy set that was scheduled for yesterday until the news of the free shipping for yesterday was announced. So there’s an extra post this week! I hope you took advantage of the free shipping; I know I did!

Beauty and Joy

I think that the Beauty & Joy set is a bit of a sleeper. It doesn’t leap off the page in the catalog but once you start using it you realise how versatile it is. There are 2 containers for your plants, three plants and 3 decorations all for $16 (150518).

Here I used soft suede stamped off once for the basket, then full strength soft suede for the trunk. The leaves are in mossy meadow with the sweet little flowers in rich razzleberry. The sentiment, also from Beauty & Joy is heat embossed in copper.

Nature’s Beauty

I wanted to showcase the remarkable detail on the deer in the Nature’s Beauty set.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Nature's Beauty - Good Morning, Magnolia - Woodland embossing folder

I stamped her in cajun craze and didn’t color her since the Stamping’ Up! artist had already done so much shading that I didn’t want to mask it. I used the stitched rectangular dies to cut out the deer and embossed a piece of very vanilla using the Woodland textured embossing folder. The sentiment comes from the set Good Morning Magnolia simply because it was the first thank you I found and it was the right size. I sometimes don’t know what kind of card I’m making and look for the shape of the sentiment, but at least this time I knew it was thank you card.

I matted with more cajun craze and mounted it all on a card base of thick very vanilla.

See you on Wednesday,

Liz

Thank you!

Thank you to everybody who has bought from me this year and helped me reach my goal. I’m thrilled to share what’s currently on my reports page at Stampin’ Up!

Yes. With help from my customers, fellow stampers, side and downline, I achieved my goal and made it to Silver Elite with just a few days to spare. I can now attend a special evening of fun and training in Orlando with other leaders. The silver elite title is where you become part of the leadership in the company and I look forward to what this will bring.

With heartfelt thanks for all you help since I wouldn’t have achieved this without you,

Liz

Varied Vases

Here’s a card that I made for a swap with 20 of my demo friends – and yes I used the stamparatus to help me make them. The bundle is Varied Vases and was inspired by Mary Fish to celebrate her million dollars of sales. It’s a wonderful bundle consisting of a stamp set and a builder punch.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Varied Vases - Vases Builder Punch

It features two of the new in-colors, lovely lipstick and blueberry bushel. I love both these colours but I think I’ve been using the blueberry bushel the most so far. I made full use of the four sides of the Stamparatus plates – it was so satisfying to stamp the bloom in mossy meadow and then have the color of the petals right in the correct place every time (once I’d got it set up right of course!). It didn’t occur to me until I was midway through my creation that I’d have been better off using two stamps for the blue vases, one plain and one patterned. Instead I did the hinge step and moved the plate down 2 notches for the second vase.

I had to stamp two of the flower stems by hand since I didn’t want them to overlap the vases and it was impossible to ink up just the exact same part of the stem each time. But it was really relaxing sitting there just doing one part of the card at a time, either with the stamparatus or by hand and it took very little time to make my 20 cards. Except then I put my stamp on the back which isn’t allowed when making swap cards, so had to make a few extras. I think I ended up making about 35 in the end which was great for my thank you cards last month.

The vases that are punched out are either glued directly onto the card or popped up with dimensionals for some interest.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project. To purchase the bundle just click Shop Now and add 148381 to your cart. It’s just $39.50. Don’t forget that if you push your order to $50 before shipping and tax, you can choose a free retired stamp set from my stash.
