Paper Pumpkin Time

It’s the 9th of the month which means that it’s almost your last chance to sign up for Paper Pumpkin and get this month’s kit. Here are the alternative cards that I made with January’s kit which was actually about treat bags. Apparently I got completely side tracked by the stamp set in the kit!

Paper Pumpkin January 2017 Alternate 3

A sweet and simple Valentine’s card for today and my Paper Pumpkin January 2017 Alternate 3, using the Adoring Arrows kit. I really enjoy getting the kit every month, never knowing what it’s going to contain. I like to challenge myself to create a number of cards with the supplies (or minimal additional ones) just to see what I can create. Here I’m using the stamp set and extra supplies.

So I’m using melon mambo and a couple of the stamps on whisper white paper. A few melon mambo enamel shapes and a melon mambo card base and I’m done. It’s one of the fastest cards that I’ve made in a while. I contemplated adding a wooden heart, one of the new Sending Love Embellishments but it was too much. Clean and simple is my favourite.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Please use the hostess code to get free handmade cards – this is the last day of the this month’s code; the current one is PNF6CKRH (if your order is over $150, don’t use the code, you get the rewards, but you still get the free cards from me). Paper Pumpkin January 2017 Alternate 2

I did some time to play with my paper pumpkin kit yesterday evening so here’s the Paper Pumpkin January 2017 Alternate 2. I really loved the heart outline that I used yesterday and thought that perhaps it could make a good background.

I took a piece of whisper white and first stamped the solid heart in real red and then filled in the rest of the background with the heart outline. I used a real red card base to match and thought that was it, until the card called for just a little bling. And that really was it!

I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Paper Pumpkin January 2017 Alternate

A quick Paper Pumpkin January 2017 alternate before I dash off to work. Yes, on a Sunday. Thankfully a rare occurrence but the project that I’ve been pulled into recently is rather demanding! So demanding, that it wasn’t until yesterday that I was able to get to the post office and mail out my thank you packages to the people who came shopping with me last month. Apologies for the week’s delay if you are one of them, but they are on the way now and are expected to be delivered by Tuesday at the latest.

Here I decided to take the elements of the kit and rather than make a bag, change it to a card. The only thing I’ve added is a scrap of calypso coral card stock. First I cut one of the bag fronts down and added a border just 1/8 inch of calypso coral to frame it. The banner and striped vellum are from the kit and attached together with glue dots. The ones in the kit are really flat and, amazingly, don’t show through the vellum. Before I’d learned that, I had designed this so that the heart would cover the glue dots – now I can remove the “how do I hide the glue dot” concern from my designs whilst using kit glue dots. Finally I stamped the heart with the outline and sentiment and added it with dimensionals.

By the way – there’s one glue dot under the vellum that’s not hidden by something else. I’m so thrilled that it’s invisible! At least, I think it is  – let me know if you can see it!

I hope you enjoyed today’s project.
