Love you to pieces

I noticed that the Puzzle Pieces dies are no longer available, but the stamp set is guaranteed to be available until May 22nd. So I changed my planned card so that it was only using the Love you to pieces stamp set.

Liz Bailey - Love you to pieces

This is a simple, quick to put together card that I demonstrated as one of the three designs on my Facebook Live this morning. Next Sunday’s live will have a little prize for somebody who shares it.

All three of the stamps are from the Love You to pieces set and are stamped in melon mambo on whisper white card stock. I glued that to a melon mambo base and that’s it!

Redo of Flowering Foils Specialty DSP

After seeing a great sponged card by Kylie Henshaw over at Hello Crafter, I decided to redo Wednesday’s card and sponge the entire piece of DSP.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Flowering Foils Specialty DSP - Varied Vases

I used the rococo rose and pear pizzazz as before, but this time added so saffron for the flower centres. Again I used rococo rose as a mat. This time the sentiment came from Varied Vases since I felt I was going to need cards just to say hello. By the way, it’s really hard to photograph the foiled papers – it’s much nicer in person.

If you want a set of precut DSP and cardstock to make these cards, simply place an order with me for $25. A reminder that the last day of Sale-a-bration is Tuesday which makes it the last time that you can get this DSP – and for free too!

Fruit Stand DSP for FMS challenge

I was making Christmas cards yesterday to include in hostess packages that I’m mailing out and I want them to be a surprise so I’ll share them later on. Let me know if you’d like to host a party and I’ll send you one too!  Today’s card is inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and I’m impressed that I’m sharing it the day before the challenge closes rather than the day that it does! I decided to use the Fruit Stand DSP which I haven’t used lately and it really should get me out of my Christmas card making rut!

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Fruit Stand DSP - Hello You Thinlits Dies

Here’s the challenge banner which inspired my card:

I just love this paper, isn’t it gorgeous? The colours of the watercoloured paper are beautiful but when I checked the colours of the Fruit Stand DSP, the oranges mentioned were Peekaboo Peach and Tangerine Tango. Neither really worked – the first was just too bright and the second fought to be the star of the show. But Pumpkin Pie does work; it gives a border that doesn’t try to take over the card. I cut out the piece of Fruit Stand DSP with the largest but one from the banners framelits dies and then cut out a pumpkin pie mat with the largest. And the border was just too big – now that we’ve been spoiled with the layering dies, the border just looked too chunky. So I lined up the bottom of the banners where I wanted them, glued on the DSP and then used my trimmer to cut down the pumpkin pie card stock to match.

The Hello is from the Hello You thinlits dies and cut out in the lush copper foil. I did consider the gold but the copper works best.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Please use the hostess code to get free product; the current one is XD4D794N (if your order is over $150, don’t use the code, you get the rewards, but you still get the free gift from me). Flourish CAS Colours & Sketches

It’s Thursday which means it’s time for another challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches and yes, the challenges there should flourish! How about this week you have a go at the challenge yourself? It would be great to see you in the gallery. This week it’s a sketch challenge where Karen wants to see some layering. I chose to go pretty minimalistic so that I could follow the layering of the sketch plus add some embellishments but remain ultra clean and simple.

Stampin' Up! Flourish thinlits and Watercolor Wishes

Here’s the sketch which inspired my card:

The flower was cut out with the Flourish thinlits in sweet sugarplum card stock; next I stamped the sentiment in the same ink onto a scrap of very vanilla which I cropped with one of the layering squares framelits dies. Yes, I could just cut the square myself using the trimmer but it’s so much simpler with the dies! That done, I held the square over the flowers and got them where I wanted them before using the two way glue pen to glue them permanently. The hello square is popped up on dimensionals hiding the stalks. For a final touch, I got out the enamel shapes in the in colours and added four to the buds. It’s probably the first time that I’ve added an even number of them!

Paper Pumpkin September 2016 Alternate 3

So here’s my Paper Pumpkin September 2016 third alternative; I’m having a lot of fun with the kit whilst I figure out what treats I’m putting in the tubes. The sketch at Freshly Made Sketches inspired this one.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Paper Pumpkin September 2016 - Something Good To Eat

Here’s the banner:

I turned the sketch on its side and used the banner from the Paper Pumpkin for the main element – actually it took two of them and my metal ruler to ensure that they were lined up. There are more banners in the kit than you need for the 16 tubes, and you don’t want to waste any. I cut a little strip of black and used my triple banner punch to put the flag in it. Then I used rich razzleberry for the sentiment (also from the Paper Pumpkin set) and cut that out with the layering square framelits dies. Then I cut out a basic black scalloped mat which I popped up with dimensionals. This was all put on a rich razzleberry card base but it didn’t feel quite right. A few metallic enamel shapes in silver finished the card off perfectly.

See you tomorrow,

Liz
