Bamboo Beauty

This week I’m working with the Bamboo Beauty stamp set (155478, $21). It’s really good for clean and simple cards. That also means fast – check out Wednesday’s.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Bamboo Beauty - Stitched so Sweetly Dies

First I selected a die which would fit the sentiment – it’s from the Stitched so Sweetly dies. Then I drew around the inside of the die with pencil in the middle of a Whisper White layer. Next I used Granny Apple Green ink and two stamps to create the border around the die cut line. Just be careful that the stalk ends of the stamps don’t pass the pencil line or they might show. There’s obviously no need to erase the pencil line. The sentiment was attached with dimensionals.

I’ll be showing how to make this card and two others using Bamboo Beauty on Sunday on my live at 11am EDT. Share my video and be put in the raffle for a little prize.

Party Puffins

Here’s another fun card using a new set in the annual catalog.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Party Puffins

The background was created by stamping the three candles in Shaded Spruce, Gorgeous Grape and Bermuda Bay. This was added to a Gorgeous Grape card base. Next the birthday cake and sentiment were stamped in Gorgeous Grape and matted with the same. It was then popped up using dimensionals.

I’ll be demonstrating this card and two others on Sunday at 11am on my Facebook Live and also uploading it to YouTube.

Better Places

This week I decided to focus on the host set, Better Places.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Better Places

The obvious thing to do with the Better Places stamp set is to color it using blends, watercolor pencils or even the new Soft Pastels assortment. So I decided to start with heat embossing in silver!

This makes it a very simple and easy to create card. The cardstock is Blackberry Bliss and after heat embossing the image, it was matted with silver foil.

A friend of mine recently was selecting cards to take home to his wife who is very fond of sending cards. It works out well – I make too many and she needs a lot! She was apparently looking for non-sentiment ones which is what I always looked for when buying cards. Of course I haven’t bought any since I started making them. But when I make a card, I now consider whether a sentiment would add to it, or whether it’s just a habit.

And I don’t think that adding a sentiment is needed here. What do you think?

Join me on Sunday at 11am EDT on Facebook when I’ll show how I made this along with 2 other cards. Share my live and be put into my raffle. See you then.

Sand and Sea Suite

Here’s  another card using the Sand and Sea Suite and it’s a lot of fun. Today it’s the turn of the Seaside Seashells dies along with the Seashells 3D embossing folder and some more Sand and Sea DSP.

I cut a piece of the Sahara Sand coloured Sand and Sea DSP and used the Seashells 3D embossing folder on it. Next it was lined up with the large Seaside Seashells die and die cut. Another piece of the DSP was attached to a Sahara Sand card base and that’s when I discovered that the die cut was a little long for my 5 1/2 inch tall card base. My trusty paper snips took care of that although I did leave some of it overlapping the card base. Finally, I used some wink of Stella on the shells themselves, not that it’s really showing in the photo.

I’ll be showing how I made this card and 2 others using the Sand and Sea Suite on Sunday at 11am EDT on my Facebook Live.

Sand and Sea Suite

Here is the Sand and Sea Suite and it’s a lot of fun. Today I’m using the Seashells 3D embossing folder and some Sand and Sea DSP.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Sand and Sea Suite - Friends are like Seashells bundle - Seashells 3D embossing folder - Sand and Sea DSP

I cut a piece of the Sand and Sea DSP (it looks more Mango Melody in person) and used the Seashells 3D embossing folder. I thought that this was so stunning, I didn’t want to cover it up. So I added the Pale Papaya ribbon before attaching it to the Very Vanilla card base. A few Elegant Faceted gems finished the card perfectly.

I’ll be showing how I made this card and 2 others using the Sand and Sea Suite on Sunday at 11am EDT on my Facebook Live.
