Rooted in Nature again

I decided to use a different incolor for the next Rooted in Nature card. Here I show you Misty Moonlight. I can’t decide if this is my favourite new color or the Just Jade that I showed on Wednesday.

I don’t have the new inks yet but luckily April’s paper pumpkin contained a little Misty Moonlight stampin’ spot. So I was able to stamp both the tree and the sentiment. The background is the new 2020-2022 incolor DSP and I layered that onto a whisper white layer before adding it to the misty moonlight card base.

I used the Stitched so Sweetly die set to create the layer for my die cut tree and the Stitched Nested Labels for the sentiment. The final touch was an overhand knot in the new Misty Moonlight 1/4 inch ribbon attached with a glue dot.

Rooted in Nature

The product that I’m playing with this week is the Rooted in Nature stamp set and matching dies. The Nature’s Roots Framelits Dies are on the last chance list BUT they aren’t retiring, they are being reconfigured with a new item number and name. But they are reduced in price so it is a good time to snap them up.

I’m also showcasing one of the new 2020-2022 in colors – Just Jade. I’ve used a piece of the Forever Greenery DSP which I think is my favourite new paper and also the 2020-2022 in colour enamel dots.

So I used a Just Jade card base with a piece of the upcoming DSP layered onto Soft Suede. I snipped out my tree trunk (very easy) and embossed and cut out the leaves using the Nature’s Roots Framelits dies and layered it on my banner which I cut out using the triple banner punch. I then sprinkled on a few of the new in colour enamel dots.

I can’t wait to play with the other new colours as well.

Inspiring Iris part 2

I was going to use the chrysanthemum stamps today but then I noticed an adorable tulip and changed my plans.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Inspiring Iris - Stitched Shapes framelits dies

I used garden green and poppy parade and carefully inked up the appropriate part of the stamp  so that the tulip was red and the stem was green. I repeated it three times and cut it out using the Stitched Shapes dies. Before popping it up, I placed it on the card to help position the sentiment. If I’d popped it up and tried to stamp half over the popped up bit, it wouldn’t have worked very well.

As I said on my Facebook Live this morning, I think this set is a sleeper. I had it for months before inking it up and I really love it. Here’s a link to my Facebook Live: https://www.facebook.com/MyElegantCards/videos/231395538171654/

Inspiring Iris

This week I’m inking up Inspiring Iris for the first time. Why did I wait so long? It’s beautiful and a lot of fun with which to create.

Inspiring Iris

It’s one of Stampin’ Up!’s distinktive stamps – look at the detail on the irises. I look like an artist but actually, the rich razzleberry part is just one stamp! I used old olive for the leaves and outline (2 stamps) and crushed curry for a hint of yellow. And since Beautiful You was out on my desk after Sunday’s Facebook Live (also on YouTube at My Elegant Cards with Liz Bailey – please subscribe), I selected that for my sentiment. One of my work colleagues is a DJ in her spare time and loves to dance. So this one’s for Anusha; I’m enjoying sending cards to my colleagues at the moment to try to give them a smile.

Botanical Prints Product Medley

Rounding out the second week featuring the Botanical Prints Product Medley is a card that shows nothing botanical at all!

Botanical Prints Product Medley

I used old olive and rich razzleberry taking the colour inspiration from one of the included cutouts. Actually I meant to add it to the card but I like the simplicity – and elegance! – of the card without it. What’s your opinion? The old olive twill ribbon is also part of the medley. There’s a lot of scope here.
