Good Tidings

Just popping in to wish you a Happy Christmas Eve – I hope that your preparations are going well. Here’s a quick card if you find yourself short and you need a little inspiration. It uses the Good Tidings stamp set as well as the cute little Christmas tree from the Watercolor Christmas set which coordinates with the Watercolor Christmas project kit.

Lightbulb Treat holders

Here’s the last 3D item that I made for my craft fairs – absolutely adorable Christmas lightbulb treat holders which hold a little candy. They use the now retired curvy keepsake framelits, a little glue and some scoring and you’re done. You could easily put these together in time to dress up your table (as long as you already have the dies that is!)

I found these on Lydia Fiedler’s blog, Understand Blue. Lydia is a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator who really adores techniques; I encourage you to read her blog. Here’s her video showing how she made these.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project.

Season Like Christmas

Here’s one of the cards that I recently offered at a “come and make some cards quickly” event. I myself managed to make some too whilst helping everyone with carding and cake. Oh yes, there are always cake or cookies at my classes. This uses most of the tree from Season Like Christmas – it’s a three stamp but I only used 2 for the tree.

Although there are 4 stamps to be stamped, it’s still quick to make. First use the soft suede for the trunk and then stamp off the old olive and stamp the full tree, then add the detail with full strength old olive. To finish add the grassy bank – some of mine were full strength, some weren’t. Then I put that onto a piece of old olive to give it a border but after the fact wondered about soft suede so tried that too.

For the background it’s a piece of Merry Little Christmas DSP on a thick whisper white base. Easy to carve up a sheet of 12 by 12 into 6 background pieces and then make up half a dozen cards quickly.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project.

Festive Phrases

Here’s an adorable card that we made at my Stamp a Stack last week; my customers chose a card (or cards) and then made a set of ten of each. This card using notecards and Festive Phrases was a popular one. The preparation was quite quick too – all I had to do was cut a length of ribbon for each person and cut out 10 pieces of whisper white with the largest stitched shapes oval framelit.

It’s amazing that every time we do coloring, the room becomes silent as people concentrate. Here we used Stampin’ Write markers in soft suede, real red and garden green. And then the finishing touch – a bow out of the beautiful Quilted Christmas ribbon. It’s retiring so if you want some, it’s as supplies last.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project.
