Toile Christmas without the cardinal

I decided to challenge myself to use the Toile Christmas bundle but without the cardinal. It was surprisingly easy and didn’t even use the dies!

All the images came from the Toile Christmas stamp set and are stamped in crumb cake. The berries are colored with poppy parade and blinged it up (is that a word?!) with Wink of Stella. I used both colours of old olive blends for the leaves and dark crumb cake for the branches. It was a relaxing and happy time colouring! I used crumb cake for a mat and then a poppy parade card base.

Have you challenged yourself lately?

Toile Christmas

This week I’m focusing on the Toile Christmas bundle (152367), an 8 piece cling stamp set and 8 dies featuring a rather impressive cardinal.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! demo - Toile Christmas

I stamped him in memento tuxedo black ink and then used dark poppy parade and dark daffodil delight blends to colour him in. I stamped the branch in crumb cake and used the same poppy parade blend, dark crumb cake and both old olive blends. Next I cut them out with the dies.

When I was deciding on the orientation of the card, I realized that the branch was a little short so I stamped an extension with the join covered up by the cardinal’s tail. I used wink of Stella to add some bling to the berries and his eye which also matches the shimmery white card stock. I added a crumb cake mat and put it on a poppy parade base.

Crumb cake is one of the colors that’s on  special until Friday – 15% off cardstock and ink pads for neutrals, regals, 2018-2020 in colors, 2019-2021 in-colors (with the exception of the purple posy ink pad) and also a further 5% off 8 bundles. Go to my store and check it out!

Feels Like Frost Suite

This week I’m playing with the Feels like frost Suite which consists of the Frosted Foliage cling stamp set, the frosted frames dies, the Feels Like Frost specialty DSP, ribbon, shimmery crystal effects and glitter and you can get all of it with just one product code – 153474 – for just $78. Incidentally, if you order this from me, I’ll send you a bundle of 15 tutorials for free.

This is a simple card just highlighting the stunning designer series paper which I placed on a night of navy card base. I thought about matting in silver but it was just too much. So I brought in the silver for the heat embossing using one of the sentiments from the Frosted Foliage set.

More Merry Moose

I had an idea for my next card with the Merry Moose bundle – a silhouette of trees and a snow covered moose. Did I pull it off? Let me know what you think.

First I stamped the trees in Stazon. Then I used some oval dies to create a mask for the snow mounds and held them in place as I brayered blushing bride over the card. Then I used daubers to add balmy blue and night of navy. The snowfall puff paint added some dimension to the top of the snow banks and then I added a moose punched out in Sparkle glimmer paper – he’s a lot more sparkly in real life.

Edit: As of a few days ago, the Merry Moose punch was no longer available for ordering. This means that it was more popular than Stampin’ Up! predicted so I hope that you were one of the people who snapped it up.

Merry Moose Bundle

The Merry Moose bundle consists of the Merry Moose 17 piece photopolymer stamp set and the Moose punch (153015 for $31.50). I kept my first card with this bundle fairly simple but there are options to dress up the moose in a scarf or add a hat to the racoon!

I used old olive as my green for this card and after experimenting, stamped the body of the moose in crumb cake and the outline and details in early espresso. I found it easiest to line up the 2 stamp stamping by stamping the outline first. I punched him out and popped him up adding a crumb cake mat to pull the colours together.

Old olive and crumb cake are a fairly unusual Christmas color combo but I think it works. It’s rather soothing which reflects the sentiment.
