One of the new specialty DSP packs in the occasions 2015 catalogue is the Birthday Bash paper. I’ve had this piece cut out ready for a card for a while but couldn’t decide what to do next. I’d been planning to use it with crushed curry but as soon as I changed the card base to pumpkin pie, it all made sense. Sometimes cards take a while to develop.
I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Yippee Skippee set in pumpkin pie on whisper white card stock and then cut it out with the circles collection framelits. I cut out the next larger size from a scrap of pumpkin pie card stock. At this point I decided that I needed something else to anchor the circles and to break up some of the DSP and that’s when I realised that a piece of ribbon with the sentiment would mimic the background. Fortunately I had some pumpkin pie ribbon from a ribbon share last year (I don’t use ribbon very often as you may have noticed so it lasts forever) and after a quick iron to remove the fold from where it was wrapped around a piece of card, I taped the ribbon to the back of the DSP. I then mounted the DSP to the pumpkin pie card base. After that it was simple matter of attaching the sentiment to the card with stampin’ dimensionals. I lined the outside flap of the envelope with a scrap of the same DSP so that it all coordinates.
See you tomorrow,
Liz
These aren’t colours you normally use, but you’ve done a nice job! It is happy.
So happy and cheerful. Lovely!
