Rooted in Nature Double

Here’s the last past for this week showing the Rooted in Nature set which is carrying over to the new catalog out next week. I decided to do a sunset card and used my ovals and circles framelits dies to help cut out my mask.

I used a standard layer of very vanilla and held my mask in place whilst I sponged and daubed using mango melody, daffodil delight, pumpkin pie and lovely lipstick. I removed the mask over the setting sun and added more daffodil delight and a smear of lovely lipstick.

I then stamped the trees in tuxedo momento black and then sponged old olive in the foreground. I then decided to cut my layer in half and make two cards for the price of one! I added black mats and a sentiment also from Rooted in Nature. Then I thought I’d demonstrate how a different coloured card base can make quite a difference.

I’ll be going live on Facebook at 11am EST on My Elegant Cards demonstrating all the Rooted in Nature cards that I’ve made this week. If you place an order with me of at least $20 in product, I’ll send you the cut card stock that would allow you to make the 4 cards along with a tutorial. If you only want the tutorial, that’s $15.

I’m a member of the Talented Tutorial Team and each month the 15 of us create a bundle of 15 tutorials. If you spend $35 with me on product, I’ll send you all 15.

Rooted in Nature again

I decided to use a different incolor for the next Rooted in Nature card. Here I show you Misty Moonlight. I can’t decide if this is my favourite new color or the Just Jade that I showed on Wednesday.

I don’t have the new inks yet but luckily April’s paper pumpkin contained a little Misty Moonlight stampin’ spot. So I was able to stamp both the tree and the sentiment. The background is the new 2020-2022 incolor DSP and I layered that onto a whisper white layer before adding it to the misty moonlight card base.

I used the Stitched so Sweetly die set to create the layer for my die cut tree and the Stitched Nested Labels for the sentiment. The final touch was an overhand knot in the new Misty Moonlight 1/4 inch ribbon attached with a glue dot.

Rooted in Nature

The product that I’m playing with this week is the Rooted in Nature stamp set and matching dies. The Nature’s Roots Framelits Dies are on the last chance list BUT they aren’t retiring, they are being reconfigured with a new item number and name. But they are reduced in price so it is a good time to snap them up.

I’m also showcasing one of the new 2020-2022 in colors – Just Jade. I’ve used a piece of the Forever Greenery DSP which I think is my favourite new paper and also the 2020-2022 in colour enamel dots.

So I used a Just Jade card base with a piece of the upcoming DSP layered onto Soft Suede. I snipped out my tree trunk (very easy) and embossed and cut out the leaves using the Nature’s Roots Framelits dies and layered it on my banner which I cut out using the triple banner punch. I then sprinkled on a few of the new in colour enamel dots.

I can’t wait to play with the other new colours as well.

Let me know if you don’t already work with a demonstrator and would like a catalog. Just email me at lizbaileycards@gmail.com

More Beautiful Moments

I decided to use blends for my third card showcasing the Beautiful Moments set.

I used a regular piece of whisper white and stamped the image in sahara sand and added a couple of seagulls. Then I started colouring – I used both the dark and light blends of highland heather, rococo rose and daffodil delight and then used the ivory for the skin. I forgot that I’d used highland heather and used the gorgeous grape for the sentiment and the card base. Looks fine.

If you want to watch me making this in person – and the other two with this set – check out My Elegant Cards facebook page or my YouTube channel, My Elegant Cards with Liz Bailey.

Beautiful Moments again

I’ve started doing Facebook Lives (Sundays at 11am EST on my My Elegant Cards page) and showcasing 3 cards from the Product of the week so I decided it would be good to show you all three as well.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Beautiful Memories - Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies

I stamped the images in sahara sand and then used pacific point, daffodil delight and real red watercolor pencils. A blender pen pushed the color around a bit and smoothed out the pencil lines. I added a slim mat in pacific point and left a wide frame of the whisper white. All that remained was to add one of the sentiments from Beautiful Moments in more pacific point and cut it out with the Stitched Shapes dies.
