Stampin’ Creative Blog Hop – Animal Antics

Welcome to the Stampin’ Creative blog hop. I am honoured to be hopping with the Stampin’ Creative team this month. The theme is Animal Antics. I was going to go with Animal Outing or even Back on Your feet but I played with the Dinoroar Suite whilst making my display board and I couldn’t stop!

Dinoroar Suite

One of the wonderful things about the Dino Dies is that they also cut out dinosaurs from the designer series paper in this suite. I cut out a number and then sat down to make a card using a card base of pretty peacock.All the dinosaurs looked as if they were having a party so I decided we needed a gift tag too – yes, another DSP die cut.

I added a sentiment from the Dino Days stamp set stamped in pretty peacock. Then I needed ribbon. I finally found the right size die to make the hole – from the Puzzle Pieces die set. Then I pulled the whisper white flax ribbon apart and used that for the string. I have a very interesting piece of the flax ribbon left over which will be fun to use somewhere.

Dinoroar Suite Design Board

My good friend Selene Kempton shared the design boards that she’d made with me before she went off on the Stampin’ Up! incentive trip. And I was inspired to make some of them myself. My product of the week on FB is the Dinoroar Suite so I thought I’d share the design board that I made. It folds up for easy transportation.

Daisy Lane Ferns

I mentioned that I was finding it hard to stop using Daisy Lane – here’s another example this time using the fern stamp.

Stampin' Up! Daisy Lane

I cut a 2 inch strip of whisper white and then inked up the fern stamp in granny apple green. Using a sponge dauber, I added a little shaded spruce onto the stamp before stamping onto the whisper white. I cleaned the darker green off the stamp and repeated.

Next I matted the white strip with a piece of shaded spruce cut at 2 1/8 inches wide to give a very skinny border and mounted that onto a granny apple green card. I seem to be stuck on granny apple green at the moment – I think it’s to help me get over missing lemon lime twist!

The sentiment was stamped in shaded spruce and cut out with my favourite stitched shapes dies and then popped up with stampin’ dimensionals.

More Daisy Lane

I had a class yesterday showcasing the Daisy Lane bundle (151118) which retails for $35 which includes the stamp set and the medium daisy punch. Add another $15 of product (say the Daisy punch 143713 for $18 and you can make daisies as well as earn a $5 coupon from Stampin’ Up! plus 14 tutorials from me. I’ve found it hard to stop using this bundle and continue making my design boards.

Here I punched out 4 with the daisy punch and 6 with the medium daisy punch out of whisper white. Then I used the 1/2 inch punch in so saffron for the middles. Use your bone folder to gently curl the petals and then use glue dots or snail to  put the daisies together. I wanted to add some texture so I put the whisper white layer through the embossing machine in my favorite Subtles folder. I cut a piece of the perennial essence vellum (149101) and heat embossed the sentiment from Daisy Lane stamp set in white.
