Crafting Forever

Here’s a fabulous new stamp set, Crafting Forever, which includes the copyright phrase in case you want to be able to sell your cards. It just needs to be stamped somewhere – I put it on the back of all my cards. But this set is a fabulous collection of images and sentiments. I love the “do something creative every day”. I truly believe that’s important. Creativity nourishes the soul. Well mine, anyway. Sometimes my creativity is cooking, mostly it’s cards. Sometimes I play my violin. But it’s all important to make you feel right. What do you do to be creative?

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - Crafting Forever

Here I stamped the pens and heat embossed using the copper embossing powder and then went to town with my aqua painter and three of the new inks – berry burst, lemon lime twist (yes, the one I was only using as an accent!) and tranquil tide. I put my piece of watercolor paper on a lemon lime twist mat and then used versa mark to create the pen background on the berry burst card base. I then added the perfect sentiment (although the one about housework is a pretty awesome one too!) stamped in more lemon lime twist on watercolor paper to ensure it matched. I cut it out with the Stitched Shapes Framelits dies so that there was interest on the sentiment but it didn’t need a match mat in lemon lime twist. I popped that up with dimensional which I didn’t place well and thus discovered that poking a mini dimensional into a sagging space is easy. Love the mini dimensionals – 720 in a packet for $4. Good value. And cute!

Colorful Seasons

Here’s a simple card that I made for my launch party featuring a new stamp set, Colorful Seasons and one of the next in colours, Berry Burst. I’m having a hard time deciding on my favourite new colour! I think it’s whichever one I’m using at the time.

I stamped the tree branches in crumb cake a few times at different angles and then added the flowers on top with an extra stamp of flowers in the corner so that it looks like one tree. I added the sentiment also from Colorful Seasons (there are some really good ones in this set) and a very skinny mat of berry burst to give a frame. I love the large white border.

Layering Leaves Dynamic TIEF

One of the products that I received last week in my big box was the Layering Leaves Dynamic TIEF. I love it. It creates such awesome texture. There are things to know – spritz the card stock with water and run it through the big shot twice and you get fabulous texture. Here on a piece of lemon lime twist. Yes, the color that I was planning to use only for pops of color. I can still hear my sister giggling about that! She immediately loved the color and I decreed that it was too bright and I wouldn’t use it much. Apparently I should be more circumspect when talking to my sister – I told her three years ago that she was wrong about everyone being able to make cards and was convinced I wouldn’t be able to. Ahem.

I also used the This Little Piggy set and stamped this adorable pig on watercolor paper and used some powder pink ink (and more lemon lime twist) with an aquapainter to colour it in. A little powder pink flag to add a little interest whilst leaving most of the Layering Leaves Dynamic TIEF visible and I was done.

More Than Chocolate

I’ve been having a fun day playing with some of the product that arrived a few days ago – as you saw, it was a large box! And I was having so much fun, that I forgot to write a blog post until now! So here’s one I made this morning using the More Than Chocolate stamp set. A reminder of my box…

The mini dimensionals are awesome – they are perfect for putting on the paper pierce tool and just nudging under the edge of a already popped up sentiment to give a little more sturdiness. And I love the fresh fig 1/8 inch sheer ribbon that you can see in the box. As you can see from the card that I’m sharing.

Liz Bailey Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - More Than Chocolate

I used fresh fig for the chocolate box and the sentiment – and it’s a great sentiment. And so true! And then I decided to go for monochromatic chocolates – just stamped in early espresso and left the decorative swirls on the top for another time. I really like how clean this makes it and it meant that I could add a bow in the new fresh fig ribbon without the card being overpowered. This is a really fun set – I just started adding chocolates at random, filling in the spaces as I went. My first play had the chocolates too regimented, I much prefer this irregular look.

I matted the very vanilla with a piece of early espresso just 1/8 inch large so there’s teeny tiny border which mimics the thickness of the chocolate box and left a wide border showing of the fresh fig card base.
