Here’s another stamp set that you need to grab quickly – it, along with the rest of the 2016-2017 is only available for SIX more days and some of the products are selling out. Love Sparkles is down to low inventory and you need it. Here are a few of the cards that I’ve made with it:

Last Chance!

We’re in the final count down now; we’re in the last week when we can get product from the 2017-2017 catalog. Stamp sets are now flying off the shelves – hurry before you miss out. There are SEVEN days left. Here’s one of the sets that is in the low inventory stage right now, A World of Thanks. It’s a fun set, but you need to move fast. Eastern Medallions

Eastern Medallions thinlits dies are unusual in that some of them cut out pieces as we are used to, but some of them cut pieces out of your cardstock leaving you with negative patterns. They also fit together in fun ways. There are two sets of three dies which can be used individually or all three together or you can mix and match. Here I’m showing you the eight possibilities with these 6 dies – although technically there are 16 since all of these medallions could still have the rest of the card stock around them – I snipped them out for clarity – and I intend on using them on cards like this.

Eastern Medallions

I put the medallions together in pairs. On the top row I used the flower petal die for all of them and then on the left, I used one of the middle dies (you can see it has dots) and then for the pair on the left, one has one middle die and the other shows the other. Similarly on the right hand side, I used the other middle die and then within that pair, alternated the smaller die. I did exactly the same on the bottom row other than using the second largest die for all of them.

It’s rather fun to have so many options isn’t it? The new catalog is going live on Thursday of next week, but Eastern Medallions is one of the things that you can get now (there are two bundles which are shown in my store).

Oh My Stars TIEF

Today’s card is resuming my series of the 5 in-colors with the same basic layout and Eastern Medallions Thinlits dies but today I’m featuring the brand new Oh My Stars TIEF. But before I get started, I want to remind you that as of today, all retiring stamp sets are as supplies last.

Rather than scoring the top layer at half an inch in, I cut a piece of tranquil tide at that size (which is 3 by 4 1/4 inch) and then put it in place on the larger tranquil tide layer ( 4 by 5 1/4 inch). I ran these two layers through the big shot with my Eastern Medallions flower (back and fore since it’s two pieces). I snipped the flower off the smaller piece and then ran it through the big shot again, this time using the Oh My Stars TIEF. I then carefully glued it onto the layer, around the petals. I added these pieces to a whisper white card base. I love how the Oh My Stars TIEF has 8 pointed stars that match the 8 petals in the Eastern Medallions.

The sentiment is one of my favourites (thank goodness it’s carrying over!) and I stamped it in the white craft ink and then sprinkled it with white embossing powder and heated. I love how the two products together (the ink and powder) give such a great result. I then used the layering circles framelits dies to cut out the sentiment and also to cut a scalloped circle just a teeny tiny bit larger to give another splash of white.

Eastern Medallions and Eastern Beauty

Today I’m sharing a card showcasing other thinlits from the Eastern Medallions thinlits dies; these are three nesting thinlits that can be used interchangeably with the one I used yesterday and another two smaller ones. Which means that there’s quite a variety of possible designs. I’ll do a post soon showing the various dies and some of the combinations. It’s quite amazing how much you can do with these.

I’m also showing a brand new product that is available in the Eastern Bundle kit and will be in the new catalog – the very vanilla notecards and envelopes. I cut out my beautiful medallion in tranquil tide but it’s actually designed to be a cutout in a large piece. So I snipped the edges that were still connected to the rest of the card into points. Once I had my medallion freed, I put it in place on my card and stamped the greeting from Eastern Beauty in more tranquil tide. With that stamped perfectly, I then used the silicone craft mat and a sponge dauber to add a little of the multipurpose glue to the back of the medallion and put it in place. And there you have it – a card that’s simple to create but is very effective.

One tip – be careful to line the points of the star up with the other pieces. The first time I tried this, I was just concerned about getting the three nesting pieces to be nested properly and it just didn’t look right with the inside pieces pointing in random directions.
