As expected, my Paper Pumpkin kit arrived last night. It’s an exciting event even though I’d given in to temptation and watched the videos! So, as usual, here’s my Paper Pumpkin April 2016 alternate. The first one anyway! The kit is called Lovely Little Wreath and it contains everything needed to make a wreath. But of course there are some spare pieces. So I’ve made a happy spring card with some of the leftovers.
The leaf strip is designed to wrap around the wreath – I cut a strip to fit my card (I already have ideas for the little piece leftover) and then used up three of the spare paper flowers. They are just tissue paper cut into a scalloped circle which I’ve folded into quarters. Very simple, but effective. The sentiment – one of three in the kit – is stamped in mossy meadow. The kit also contains an ink spot of very vanilla craft ink – I have wanted this for a couple of years so I’m very happy.
I’m also happy that my sister Caro is at her local Onstage event in the UK today. We’ll be chatting later so that I can catch up on all the news. I’m looking forward to that! Which reminds me – the retiring list will be published on Monday. As soon as it’s published, things will start disappearing – the first to go is everything in the retiring in colours. So if you want anything, order now! If you use my Stampin’ Rewards code over there on the left and your order is at least $50 before taxes and shipping, I’ll include the It’s My Party enamel dots with your thank you card. If you’ve ordered from me in the last 12 months (thank you!) and you didn’t check the no contact box, I’ll be sending you a new catalogue as soon as I get them in May. If you don’t currently work with a demonstrator and would like a catalogue, please email me at lizbaileycards@gmail.com with your contact details and I’ll send you one too.
See you tomorrow,
Liz
This is so darn cute, Liz! I haven’t received my kit yet, but it might come today (in the middle of our snow storm). From what I have already seen of the kit on the internet I am not too impressed, but I know we need to keep an open mind about PP because people like you always have such great alternate ideas…keep ’em coming! Thanks for sharing.
Hi Ann – sorry to hear of a snow storm in the middle of April! I hope it’s your last. I’m not thrilled with this kit either (I’m really not a wreath person) so I’m really challenging myself to make other things. I’m glad that you’re enjoying the alternate ideas. I have a germ of an idea for tomorrow and more leftovers. 🙂 Stay warm! Liz x
Wonderful idea Liz. Reminds me a bit of the cactus plants where I used to live in New Mexico. Thanks for sharing the inspiration!
Thanks Jean. I’m so glad that you like it. I hope today’s works for you too! Liz x
