Grateful bunch is making an appearance again for my design card for CAS Colours & Sketches‘ current sketch challenge. It’s a super simple sketch that you can take in almost any direction – Louise just wants to see the curves in your design.
Here’s the banner which inspired my card
I coloured in parts of the leaf stamp from Grateful Bunch that were the most angled with my mossy meadow Stampin’ Write marker and used them as one of the curve elements. I used the flowers as the second curve element stamping them in blackberry bliss and hello honey but it’s hard to be sure now. I’d stamped these out 2 weeks ago when I was doing the previous sketch! The sentiment comes from the set included in the Watercolor Wishes kit – I find I am using this stamp set a great deal at the moment. Same goes for mossy meadow! I glued the very vanilla piece to a mossy meadow card base and decided that was my card.
The next morning, I decided that there was something missing and realised that the pearl embellishments would finish the card perfectly.
I don’t use a lot of embellishments since I do adore CAS cards, but when the stamping is so minimal, the embellishments work and the card still stays CAS. And I do like embellishments as the centres of flowers.
I hope you’ll pop over to the challenge site and check out the inspiration from the rest of the design team and then have a go yourself. I hope to see you in the gallery.
See you tomorrow,
Liz
Wonderful! Love your take on the card – great image choice!
Gorgeously dainty and fresh, great use of the sketch.
I love this! So delicate and the images are beautiful. I’m still in shock that you decided it needed embellishments but you’re right, they finish the card off beautifully. Caro x
I love how you’ve given dimension to the card with the popped-up blossoms. The pearl centers are a perfect finishing touch. Lovely job!
The stitched blooms are perfect for the sketch. Love your soft colours too. Hugs Bev x
