Today is the first full day of Onstage Live here in Amsterdam and we’ve been swapping like crazy – little gifts amongst the team and cards and 3D items with the general population. It’s a lot of fun. So since people have already seen it, it’s time to share my swap card which features Dragonfly Dreams. And, you’ll be surprised to hear, emboss resist!
I started by stamping the detailed bee from Dragonfly Dreams in versamark and then sprinkled in the gold embossing powder and heated. Then I took so saffron, calypso coral and rose red and a full aquapainter and coloured the background. Once it was completely painted and I’d removed the excess color from on top of the embossing, I went over again with more so saffron which softened the look. I originally then matted this on basic black and mounted it on my whisper white card. But then I made a pillow gift for my sister using a copper bee and decided to use the stitched shapes dies to cut it out. I preferred the look and since I’d only completed construction on one card and just a couple of matted bees changed my mind on the card. Here’s the original look – I much prefer the stitching and a wonder black border. What do you think?
I finished this off with the sentiment also from Dragonfly Dreams.
See you tomorrow,
I’m off to go and talk all things stamping now,
Liz
